The New Albany Sewer Board held its regular meeting on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 9:15 AM in Room 100 of New Albany City Hall. - Sewer Cleaning Combination Truck Quotes: Three quotes were received to replace an aging jet truck (2013 Aquatec with trade-in). Quotes: MTEC – trade-in $100,000, total price $525,681.80, includes quarterly preventive maintenance for three years (only bid with this); Best Equipment – trade-in $75,000, total $549,073.50; Joe Johnson – trade-in $65,864.71, total $527,846.71, with an optional maintenance agreement for an additional $35,000. The board approved the MTEC bid unanimously, citing the favorable trade-in value and included maintenance program. Delivery is planned for 2027 budget year.
Communications – City Officials
- Board members and staff expressed condolences to Vice President Ed Wilkinson on the passing of Scott, a long-time employee who was instrumental in bringing the wastewater utility management back in-house. Scott was remembered as a dedicated and reliable worker.
Financial Report
- Ed Wilkinson reported July billing of $1,229,000, which is within the budget bracket (approximately $25,000 above baseline but within normal monthly variation of $20,000). No other changes from the last printed report.
Utility Report
- Mike Wallace presented the May 2026 Monthly Report Summary. The plant operated with no violations during May. The Oak Street project is progressing, and finishing work is underway. Wallace expects to provide bond information for upcoming projects at the next meeting.

Like to call sewer board meeting to word, please. We'll begin with the pledge. Pledge is the United States. Okay, the first item on the agenda is the approval of the corrections from August 13th. I had a couple of types I gave the Vicky, but I make a motion to approve this. Correct this way. I've second that I saw the same thing. Second the motion. Okay. We have a motion and second. All in favor say aye. Aye. All right. Okay. Those minutes approved. Next we'll drop down to bids and contracts. Yes, sir. I have a few today. The first is for the UV replacement. This is change order number one. This is for some uh electrical deduct. So this change order will zero out. There is no money in addition. So we had an additional concrete for the gate, uh slide gate modification. We had added some gutters on the uh building that we put over it, and then we order some spare gate seals from the contractor. So like I said, there is no additional money to it. We will be at the same price. There is uh everything went well, everything's working good now, so we're happy with it. Uh the next meeting, we should have uh the final close out and then um release for retainings. I make a motion we approve a change order for something changes. Good news, right? Yeah, thank you. We have a motion second, all in favor say aye. Aye. Okay, good thanks. Uh next is the capacity for pageant development district. Uh this entails 146 units, uh 36,700 gallons per day. Uh Clark Beats has reviewed this and sees no issue with the flow being added to our current system. I will say on the second page, uh it downstream through it should be a 24-inch main, and they have corrected that, but I did not get it in time. So that's even better. And a lot of that's that new infrastructure that we're working on now. So what's being built there? Apartments? Yeah, uh, it has 75 two-bedrooms and seventy-one one-bedroom. Okay, a couple of buildings. I couldn't tell from the site by what was actually being done. Okay. So do we need it? Yeah, typically we do for the uh report. Just for them to move forward.
