Welcome to the special council meeting for April 9th, 2025.

This is the public participation portion of the meeting regarding the mayor's proposed budget for the next fiscal year.

Time is now nine thirty sorry, six thirty nine.

Ask anybody who wish to speak on the uh the budget.

Please state your name and address for the record and limit your time to three minutes.

And we ask for this special meeting that you limit your remarks to the topic of budget items.

Approximately after sometime a little after seven.

And if you if there are any people wishing to speak at public participation on any topic, that will be the opportunity.

So I have uh no sign-ups.

No sign up.

So I'd invite anybody to come and uh talk about the uh next municipal budget.

Does anybody want to talk and now I have to add lib because I thought I was actually gonna hear the budget presentation, but all I'm asking you all is to actually look at every line item on that budget, every line item.

I mean, there's little things out there that why thirty thousand dollars more for uh crossing guards, thirty thousand dollars more in administration, I don't know.

But hold on, oh you state your name.

Oh, I'm sorry, Gail Connolly, 2200 Stanley Street in good old heart hitting.

Um I do urge you to look at those little things.

I'm asking you to take the time to review the budget line item by line item.

I guarantee you that the individuals that are represented in the resolutions being presented at seven would benefit by paying less taxes along with a that month long for recognition in my own defense and maybe just a little poke.

I know I poked a few of you.

You can't listen online or watch replays, especially if you don't have patients like me.

I do appreciate you, I appreciate what you do.

I don't envy what you have to do coming up, and I hope that budget has higher than a point four tax deduction because I know somebody's campaigning on being able to cut my taxes.

If you can foresee that, you should be able to cut it more.
