33:40All right, good morning.
33:42We are going to go ahead and get started with the sales tax hearing of July twenty-ninth, twenty twenty-six.
33:48We are going forward at ten forty-five this morning.
34:07If my parties will step forward for no lack.
34:17Tell me who you are and what capacity you're representing this entity in.
35:00We'll go back to number one.
35:01Um start off with 61-25.
35:05DPMJ LLC doing business as Bijou restaurant.
35:09We are going to go ahead and dismiss that one because they are permanently not doing business.
35:16The business is permanently closed according to Google.
35:18And what um the detective said when he tried to serve them.
35:21All right, I will grant the dismissal of the complaint against Bijou restaurant for lack of doing business.
35:30Um next matter is 075-25.
35:34Permittee Nicholas S.
35:36Carnot I fourth incorporated doing business as Cornet.
35:40We also are going to dismiss this one because after working with the attorney, we determined every all the fees and everything have been actually paid.
35:48All right, we will grant the dismissal of this complaint given that all of the fees are caught up and the allegations are loot at this point.
35:56Um next matter is 012-26 permittee whiskey and sticks LLC doing business as whiskey and sticks.
36:04Um they actually came into the office and entered into consent, and they agreed to pay $1,200 in 45 days, and it's due by August 16th, 2026.
36:16I will grant the consent judgment of $1,200 due in 45 days with a deadline of August 16th of 2026.
36:31The next matter is 014-26, the Blue Flamingo LLC doing business as a Blue Flamingo Sports and Bar Grill.
36:41Uh let's see, do we have anything for that?
36:43Um, so we do have service on them.
36:50I am unable to read the signature, but they were served on July 13th, and they were also served again on July 13th, but this one I can read is Derek Bolt and Isabella Newz, is what it appears to be.
37:08I'm sorry, no, that's the wrong one.
37:09It's just Derek Bolt.
37:10I cannot read the first signature to tell you who it was, but they were served on July 13th, and we are asking for their six month late period, and then there was a 10 months of no payment, and so a total of 16 late periods who were asking for a total of 400.
37:26And I'll let Portia explain.
37:31They have come in to enter into a payment plan with us.
37:35So as Lillian said, we are asking for a $25 administration fee for 16 periods.
37:44I will grant the fee of $400 to be how y'all want to have it paid.
37:52It'll be payable uh check credit card certified.
37:56No, I mean by like how long?
38:00How long is their payment plan?
38:03Uh I believe it's a year.
38:06I don't have it in front of me, but I can go and um get that information if you need.
38:11Do you know how much their payment plan is a month?
38:16I can check that as well.
38:17I don't know the exact dollar amount of how much.
38:22All right, I will grant the amount of four hundred dollars, but I'm a little hesitant on the 30-day component, given that if they did monthly payments, I feel like that might be overwhelming to them.
38:34Um offer them 45 days.
38:37I'm going to offer them 60 days.
38:40They're going to pay within 60 days, and they can uh figure out how that gives them enough knowledge and notice and time.
38:48400 to be paid within 60 days.
38:55Next matter is 015-26 permittee ocean bourbon LLC doing business as a lighthouse and oyster bar.
39:03Hold on, give me just a second.
39:05Not a consent judgment because they're not here to sign off on it.
39:07So the judgment of the board for $400 do and pay within 60 days to Blue Flamingo Sports Bar and Grill.
39:18Um yes, it's uh 015 26 permittee ocean bar bourbon LLC doing business as a lighthouse and oyster bar.
39:29We serve them on July 13th, and is Isabella Nunes was served, and also it appears Mr.
39:36Carlos Funes were served as we have that service, and we're asking for $300 total for six late periods at $50 a period.
39:48And I'll let Porsche expound upon that.
39:52Um we also have recorded that the business closed March of 2025.
40:00So these fees are prior to the business closure.
40:05So Lighthouse Oyster Bar closed in March 2025.
40:13And they have since come in to pay they've since come in to let us know that they've closed.
40:19And they have no intention on paying the administrative fee.
40:25No I'm saying they don't intend on paying anything since they've closed.
40:29They we just had no record that they closed.
40:32So when they were served that was their opportunity to let us know and so our fees are adjusted based off the closure date.
40:42So they don't owe any so let me just make sense they don't owe anything for selling liquor or anything like that between after 2025 to now.
40:53And so we're assessing them a fee of them basically not coming in to tell y'all that they had that they closed in 2025 and they no longer needed the license.
41:02No this fee would be prior to the business closure of late payments and how many days were they late they were delinquent 11 months?
41:15And you're asking for how much 300 and that is what a month 25 a month 50 50 but we just did 25 for the other entity at the 400 a month yes because you're on a payment plan the prior one tell me one more time how much you're asking for 300 300 total for six late periods.
42:08Alright I'll grant it 300 for judgment of the board.
42:16The next matter is it's how many 45 45 all right next matter 018-26 permitte pink lotus LLC doing business as pink lotus um we do not have service that appears we believe we have certified mailing that was delivered on July 18th it just says left with the individual doesn't specify who and it appears that there were three attempts by the detective to go ahead and serve and no one answered and um there also said that the text assessed the tax assessor's website said it's no longer at this location so that's what we have and we were asking for $1700 a month for 17 periods at a hundred dollar period.
43:21But haven't they been in front of us before has someone come before on their behalf oh you know what I'm sorry I'm incorrect that the um Porsche just reminded me the person did come in today and they went upstairs to do it enter into a consent with the law department right before we started and so the 1700 a consent judgment no they can that was the regular judgment but the consent that they're entering into they went up there before was for $500 that's correct for $500 we don't have the consent just yet because they went upstairs to um to do it and we did let them know it was payable in 45 days.
44:01So they're paying the $500 within 45 days.
44:06And so y'all want to almost triple the what they're going to pay now with $1700.
44:12No no no no that was I'm incorrect I forgot that they had come in and entered consent and that she told me that's why I'm saying the $1700 we're not even issuing it's just going to be a consent for $500.
44:24Okay so we're all so it's just a consent judgment we're not asking for anything else.
44:28We're not asking for anything else yes.
44:29The consent judgment of $500 that we pay with with um within 45 days is good.
44:35It will be granted good capital about that next uh one is 019-26 permittee patio 17 LLC is the only business as patio 17 and it says when detective finished services business closed no longer at the address one and for the certified mail the last thing we have it says that it arrived at USPS but it has not been delivered to them.
45:00And it says when detective finished services, business closed no longer at the address.
45:05One and for the certified mail, the last thing we have is says that it arrived at USPS, but it has not been uh delivered to them.
45:16So we have no service.
45:19And how many times have we tried to perfect service on them?
45:24I think it's the same.
45:25I do believe yes, and this is the second time we've continued.
45:29Um what is your request?
45:32Would you want to continue it again?
45:35We'd like to continue it one more time to give one more opportunity.
45:39All right, we will continue it to the August date, which is August 24th, 2026, and we can attempt to do service one last time.
45:52The next matter is 022-26, and that's permittee Empire State Delicate Testant LLC doing business as Empire State Delicontested, and we are going to dismiss this because the business has closed.
46:07All right, we will dismiss this complaint given that the that the business is closed.
46:16Anything any other matters before the board?
46:18This oh wait, we have way more.
46:25Does um Miss Brown, do you know that you don't have to stay?
46:30Oh, I thought we'd bring on the phone, so we can go wait.
46:33I mean, talk to them, but yes, you can go down.
46:38Yeah, I just don't want you to have to stay for a meeting that and then you're welcome.
46:49Uh 023-26 Permittee Avenue Mart LLC doing business as Market on Magazine.
46:56They have entered to consent with the city, and they will pay 2200 within 30 days.
47:04Uh right at the constitution.
47:06And I believe they actually paid this morning.
47:09Yes, so the consent judgment will be signed at 2200, do within 30 days.
47:20Next matter is 026-26.
47:24Permittee Anthony A.
47:26doing business as Tony's his part parakeet bar and lounge.
47:32Pierre called immediately before this hearing and said that he could not make it because he's out of town and that he is not sure if he's gonna actually be renewing an ABO license or a business or occupation license or anything because there's a family dispute over the ownership of the property, and um he indicated he's not sure if he wants to open a business that he may not own the property at anymore, and also there's a for sale sign on the building, is what he told me.
48:01So he asked if we could continue it for another month, but he wanted me to convey all that.
48:06All right, thank you.
48:06Let's come let's c um continue that to September.
48:09Give them time, let them know we would give them time to figure out what they're gonna do between now and September, and then he can come talk to us.
48:19The September meeting is gonna be canceled because the committee is using the council chambers for that meeting September, so the next I think would be October.
48:38Let's just given that there might be complications with the September date.
48:42Let's just continue it to the August date, and then if we're in the same position in August, then we can figure out what the next meeting would be.
48:48So we're gonna continue this matter until August 24th of 2026.
48:54All right, I will let him know.
48:59All right, the next matter is 028-26 permittee bar and grail LSC doing business as the island.
49:09Um we also received a phone call this week from a Miss Carter.
49:15Not sure what her connection to the business is, but she did indicate due to her age, she would not be able to make it to um the hearing.
49:24I did attempt to call her twice to return a call, and I didn't get any answer, and I left a message for her to give me a call back.
49:32So um there's that, but there is service that was received on 14th, and I can't make out if that is her signature or if it's someone else's signature, and there is certified mail that was delivered to Atlanta, Georgia on July 22nd.
50:00So I am inclined, I guess, to ask if we could continue it to try to be able to get in contact with Ms.
50:05Bogger since she has reached out to our office.
50:08Alright, we'll continue that to August as well.
50:11Let Miss Carter know somebody needs to show up, or we're gonna move forward with fees one way or another.
50:21The next matter is 034-26 permittee 237 Decatur LLC doing business as Estrella.
50:32Um I have an email from an attorney Amanda Butler who asked for a continuance to give them time to work out a consent with us.
50:42Alright, I'll agree to the continuance.
50:47They're gonna come in next week, I believe, to sign a consent.
50:54We will continue that matter to the August 24, 2026 hearing date to allow them time to work up a consent judgment.
51:10Okay, the next matter is 035-26 permittee MDK 327 Bourbon LLC doing business as corruption, and we do have service on them.
51:22They were served on July 13th by I believe Gianna Lewis is who signed for it, and also a Mary Merritt, maybe also signed for service, and then there was no answer for uh certified mail.
51:41So we are asking for $650 for 13 late periods to be due in 45 days.
51:49I'll let Portia expound upon anything for her.
51:52Yes, 13 total periods and $50 a period for 650 total.
52:00And that would be from June 2025 until June of 2026.
52:06And are they in good standing now?
52:09Yes, they're just late.
52:16So I guess technically they wouldn't be good standing, but late.
52:20Well, I mean they don't have any outstanding fees up besides what we're asking for today.
52:31All right, I will uh grant the judgment of the board at $650 for 13 periods of being late, and that we will have that due within 60 days.
52:47Alright, next matter is 037-26, permitte no Latheers LLC.
52:54Doing business as the 337.
52:56Uh we have certified mail service that was delivered in Gretna on July 24th to an individual that says picked it up at the post office.
53:07However, we don't have any physical service from via the detective because there the business is no look no longer located at that address, and that it's a bad location, and we have another one says that the business is closed.
53:21So we were asking for $600 at $50 a month for 10 uh late periods due in 45 days.
53:36So the only service we technically have is a certified mail and to Gretna address that was picked up at the post office on August 20 or on July 24th.
53:55Um, I'm gonna continue this to the August date, giving them.
54:00I mean, they've only known about it for five days, so let's, or at least from certified mail.
54:05So let's give them an additional time.
54:08Tom, you know, if you speak to someone, let them know that they if they want to come and if not, we'll move forward with fees in August.
54:21The next matter is 042-26 permittee MMA New Orleans LLC doing business as Bertie's Clayborn.
54:31Um they entered into a consent with uh the city for $1,800 due in 30 days of it.
54:42All right, the consent judgment will be granted of $1,800 due within 30 days.
54:53Okay, the next matter is 043-26, MMA New Orleans um LLC doing business as Bertie Magazine.
55:03They entered into consent also for this location for $1,800 due in uh 30 days.
55:11Alright, the consent judgment of $1,800 due within 30 days for the second party's location will be granted.
55:24And next matter is 044-26 permittee free tie LLC doing business as free tie.
55:33They also entered into a consent.
55:36And they are paying $3,600 due in $120 days.
55:43And that would be due by Wednesday, November 25th, 2026.
55:49Alright, the consent judgment of $3,600 due within $120 days, making that November 25th, 2026, will be granted.
56:02Okay, the next one is 045-26 permittee 301 Royal LLC doing business as curious and lost my place.
56:15Oh yes, and they were without their ABO for 13 months total, correct?
56:20And so we were asking for the maximum of a thousand dollars a month, which would be 13,000.
56:26I know we won't give that to me.
56:30Are they in good standing now?
56:32Uh Philip Anton and Department of Safety Departments.
56:36They believe they have some VCC issues.
56:39Um however we can look into the uh TAMP ABO for them to give them time to make payment on their unpaid funds.
56:52And has anybody actually talked to this entity?
56:56No, I they've not reached out to our office or anything.
56:58But you have service?
57:00Yes, we do have service at gonna say I think it's Dorothy Moffitt, maybe I'm not I can't really read the handwriting, but they were served on July 13th and also again I I can't read.
57:15Dorothea Sutton, maybe that's what that one says.
57:20Yes, both on July 13th, and there is also um certified mail that was delivered to Metary location, that was left at the front desk, and that was delivered on July 21st.
57:33Are they presumably still selling alcohol right now?
57:38I'm not sure if they're still selling, but they shouldn't be good.
57:41They shouldn't be but they might be because they're still in business as long as far as we know.
57:48They did submit a current renewal application.
57:52Um that's what we can look into it in um since we do have the temp IBO um to help alleviate these issues.
57:58Um we can um look into that to give them the 90 days to come up with the other violation on pay fines that they have.
58:08And if I continue it, can they still get the the temp AVO that you just said?
58:14All right, so I'm gonna continue this to August.
58:16Let's try and get somebody here before I tax them with a lot of money that involves a comma.
58:21So we're gonna continue this to August 24th, 2026.
58:26See if we can get somebody here.
58:28If not, as long as you have service on the 19th, I'll be prepared to not give you what you want, but to attack um to task funds.
58:38Next matter is 046-26 permittee Amir LLC doing business as Quickie's discount.
58:46They did uh contact our office and entered to consent, and they will be paying $4,200 payable in 30 days.
58:53I'm not exactly sure what the exact date that would be on.
58:56We'll do the consent judgment will be signed and granted at $4,200 due within 30 days for quickie's discount.
59:18The next matter is uh 047-26 permittee Venino LLC doing business as the Maidstone of New Orleans, and we do have service on them.
59:31They were served on July 13th.
59:33Again, I cannot read the signature.
59:35They're also served another party.
59:37It was on July 13th.
59:39I cannot make the signature out.
59:42Um so for them we would be asking for $1,300 at $100 a month for 13 late periods.
1:00:00So they they've never contacted anybody.
1:00:03No, they have not reached our office.
1:00:06No, you're saying 13 months, but mine says nine months.
1:00:10Non-payment of taxes.
1:00:13It's increased since the petition was drapped.
1:00:29And are they still open and doing business?
1:00:44All right, I will find them $1,300.
1:00:49So that's $100 per month for being delinquent, and we will have that due within 60 days.
1:00:58That's a judgment of the board.
1:01:07Next matter is 048-26 permittee 552 restaurant LLC doing business as I water American Bistro.
1:01:16It appears we have certified mail service.
1:01:18That was delivered on July 18th.
1:01:20Um, but there was no answer at their um business on uh when they were attempted to be served by the detective, and that would have been July 13th.
1:01:30So we have that, and we are asking for uh $1,400 at $100 a month for a total of 14 late payments, payable of 45 days.
1:01:46Are they in good standing?
1:01:48No, they're not and they're still doing business.
1:01:56Yes, we don't have a business closure on file for them.
1:02:00Does Google say they've closed?
1:02:11So you're asking for $1,400 for I'm assuming that's 14 months.
1:02:21I will grant $1,400, $100.
1:02:27When the last time y'all checked on whether they were closed or not, because according to Google, they say permanently closed.
1:02:40Is that the same one or I have $2,900 chart?
1:02:48That lovely name street.
1:02:54Did they go by bads at any given time?
1:03:00No, I know you you Google.
1:03:02You Googled by water and that shows up with bad.
1:03:06I was gonna try to do more.
1:03:12Let's continue this and find out if they're actually closed or not.
1:03:15And so let's come back in August 2024.
1:03:18Let's find out just for clarity purposes.
1:03:28Okay, the next matter is 049-26 permittee 1504 beverage operating LLC doing business as 1504 beverage operations.
1:03:39And that says we have a service on them.
1:03:42Again, it's just the swiggly line, but they were served on the 14th, and they were also served maybe tailored Excel 3 or I don't know.
1:03:54But they were served also on July 13th.
1:03:57And with both of that, so and we're asking for 650 total for 12 months periods late, and uh we'll payable again in 45 days.
1:04:14Um I'm assuming that that at that 650 for 12 months means somebody came in and worked out a plan.
1:04:20They did, they just came in and paid on the account.
1:04:23Like they paid off completely what they owed?
1:04:38All right, given that they came and paid in total.
1:04:42Um going to cut their fine to 350 for 12 months.
1:04:49And we'll make that due in 45 days.
1:05:00The next matter is 050-26 for middle 2440 charters incorporated doing business as Horns Eatery.
1:05:09We are going to dismiss that because their business is closed.
1:05:12All right, I will grant a dismissal given that the business is closed.
1:05:37I still know what the attorney does for the continuance.
1:05:41Yes, this is uh Caramada 365 group LLC doing business with Rasa.
1:05:48This is the matter where the attorney, I think I may have said it earlier, um, asked for the continuance for the next month to work out a consent.
1:05:58So Amanda Butler has two matters before us today.
1:06:02Yes, she was whiskey and sticks.
1:06:10Yeah, so whiskey and sticks in this one.
1:06:14Um I continue the other one to August.
1:06:18Uh well, whiskey and sticks to the consent.
1:06:21Well, that's just con August 24th, 2026.
1:06:24That should give y'all enough time to make a consent judgment between the parties.
1:06:39The next matter we have is 052 permittee to bus the uh spot bar and hookah lounge LLC.
1:06:47We need business as a spa bar in hookah.
1:06:50Um we do not have service because it says business is not open until Thursday night.
1:06:57And no answer after two attempts.
1:07:00And um certified mail hadn't been perfected just yet.
1:07:04They were still out.
1:07:07So it was still waiting to be delivered.
1:07:10Yes, so I would ask that we continue it until we are able to uh get service.
1:07:14Okay, we'll continue to August 24th, 2026, and hopefully we'll get service by then.
1:07:23The next matter is uh 053-26.
1:07:27So Clutch Bourbon LLC doing business as concrete cowboy.
1:07:31They did enter into a consent with our office, and they are going to pay $1,600 to be paid within 14 days of July 15th.
1:07:45All right, I'll grant the consent judgment of $1,600 to pay to be paid within 14 days for concrete cowboy.
1:07:57Are we on the left one?
1:08:05This is 054-26, permittee 1600 basin and companies doing business at 1600 basin.
1:08:13Uh we would ask to have that one continued because they did reach out to revenue to work out a plan with them and said that they were going to contact our office to enter trade consent.
1:08:25So we want to give them an opportunity to um come in and do that.
1:08:29All right, I will continue this to the August 24th, 2026 date to give time for a consent judgment to be worked out between the party.
1:08:39And um I will ask that when you when the folks come in and talk to you all, that you all make sure that we're as transparent as possible so that they can consider what is realistic to them in their financial picture that you all will become to the board asking.
1:08:56I know that doesn't happen every time, especially as I advised when you pay online, but I'd ask that when you are talking to the folks that you are transparent with them that additional fines can and possibly will be assessed to them for their late purpose.
1:09:11Just so that they know I don't enjoy hitting people with fines right after they think they're in a oh place that they could float well.
1:09:20Is there any other business in front of the board this morning?
1:09:23It's still morning.
1:09:25All right, then I will adjourn us at 1121.
