Good morning, I'm Captain Collins Coy, and I'm joined here today with City Manager Wilfredo Melendez, Police Commissioner Neil Reynolds, and Captain Rell Rodriguez.

Welcome to the family's friends and the fellow police officers here to our promotion ceremony, in which the following promotions will take place.

One police lieutenant to the rank of captain, three sergeants to the rank of lieutenant, and four officers to the rank of sergeant.

If you would please rise and join me in the pledge, and I'd like to ask the Salerno boys, and Gianna's daughter, if she wants to, come up to help us with the Pledge of Allegiance.

It's uh my pleasure to welcome up City Manager Wredo Melendez for some remarks.

Good morning, everyone.

Commissioner Reynolds, uh, members of the police department, our city hall staff, honored guests, family members, friends, and most importantly, our officers being promoted today.

Thank you for for being here.

It's it's a privilege to join you as we recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of these dedicated public servants.

Today's ceremony marks an important milestone in their careers and reflects years of hard work, the commitment they have, and the service to our community here in No Rochelle.

Law enforcement is one of the most demanding professions in public service.

Every day our officers are out there, the public facing, are called upon to protect lives, maintain the public safety of our city, they solve problems, respond to situations that require courage, sound judgment, and professionalism.

The individuals we honor today have consistently demonstrated those qualities that have earned the trust and confidence of their supervisors, their peers, and the community they serve.

Promotions are not simply rewards for past performance.

They are investments in the future of our organization here in Nurshell in our city.

With each new rank comes greater responsibility, greater leadership expectations, and greater opportunities to make a positive impact.

The officers being promoted today have shown they are prepared to meet those challenges.

As a city manager, I have the privilege of working every day alongside many outstanding professional people across our municipal organization.

And I can say with confidence that our police department is strengthened by the leaders who are committed to excellence, accountability, and service.

And one thing I say every year, I want to acknowledge the families, the friends, the loved ones who support our officers.

Police service is never a journey that's taken alone.

It's long hours, missed holidays, unexpected calls for duty that affect not only the officer, but those who who stand beside them.

Your encouragement, your patience, the sacrifices you have contributed greatly to today's achievements, and we thank you for that support.

To the officers receiving promotions, congratulations.

Your new rank is a reflection on your accomplishments, but is also reminder of the responsibility you now carry.

The officers you lead will work to, will look to you for guidance, mentorship, and an example.

So on behalf of the mayor, the city council, and the entire city organization, I offer my sincere congratulations to each of our promotees.

We are proud of your accomplishments, grateful for your service, and excited for the leadership you will provide in the years ahead.

So thank you, congratulations, best of wish best of wishes as you begin this next chapter in your career.

I just like to acknowledge some of the city leaders and officials that are here today.

And forgive me if I uh miss you, but I'd like to acknowledge Fets and Leak, Civil Service Commissioner, Todd Castaldel, Deputy City Manager, former police commissioner Robert Gonzola, Fire Chief Andy Sandor, who's this is his last on duty promotion ceremony.

He's retiring at the end of the month after 30 plus years of service.

City Clerk Kim Jones, who's about to come up in a few minutes, uh, Commissioner Paul Vaca.

I see Robert Bonjourney, Director of All Tech Citywide, and if I miss you, I apologize as clergy here, and it's a lot of people who took the time out to come.

So, on behalf of the commissioner and the police department, thank you for taking the time.

And now I'd like to introduce police commissioner Neil Reynolds for some remarks.

All right.

So just to start out, I brought this up here because it's hot.

I know some of you like me think it's hot, and I might be wiping my head, but I'm also like I've been saying lately, I've been trying to hide it, but I'm a crier.

Sometimes I'll get emotional at these things, starting already.

And and I just want to say that this is one of the days that makes me emotional.

This is something that these officers have earned, and it gives me no greater pleasure than to be the person who's in the position not to say that I'm promoting you, but that you've earned your promotion.

So give it up to them.

I also want to call out some men and one woman who are our newest police officers.
