Item 19 – Fire Station 53 Construction Defect Settlement:

The plaintiff offered $290,000 (97%) to resolve the matter. Approved unanimously.
Item 21 – Donita Joe Silas Settlement:
- City Attorney Andy Moore reported a vehicle accident in October 2022 where a city vehicle struck the plaintiff. Liability was clear. The city will pay $85,000 from the self-insurance fund to settle. Approved unanimously.

Yes, Mayor, we are. Thank you. Today we have the opportunity to have the invocation given by Mayor Potem Scott Black. Following that will be the Pledge of Allegiance by Councilman Churchill. Our Father in Heaven, at this time, we humbly pause at the beginning of the city council meeting to express deep gratitude for our many blessings. We're grateful for community. We're grateful for peace. We're grateful for our law enforcement and first responders that come to our aid at a moment's notice without worry of their own danger. We pray at this time that that will watch over our community and those that live within it, that families will be united, that children will have the opportunity to grow and develop and meet their goals and dreams. We're grateful for the city council and the privilege that we have to lead, and I pray, Heavenly Father, that thou would guide us to lead with wisdom and humility as we strive to lift the lives and benefit the lives of those that we serve. So, council, let's go down front. Oh, can I say something? And also on Sunday, I got to spend the day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and I got to go around the track in a pace car. They were only supposed to go a hundred, but they went a little faster than a hundred. And the driver kept saying, look out to the right, because you can see how close we have to be to that wall. I'm like, because I'm thinking if that car touches that wall, all I had on was a seatbelt, we'd have been lights out. So but I it was exhilarating and it was so much fun. All right.
