The North Las Vegas City Council and Redevelopment Agency held a joint meeting on March 4, 2026. The session included ceremonial recognitions, approval of new redevelopment incentive programs, updates from the Clark County School District, and council reports. The North Las Vegas City Council and Redevelopment Agency welcomes you to its meetings. There are four public forums set aside for public comments, one at the beginning and the end of the redevelopment agency meeting, and one at the beginning and the end of the city council meeting. If you wish to speak, please complete one of the blue cards, which are located on the table outside the main entrance and at the podium rail. Please give your card to the city clerk when called upon to speak. We request that you limit your comments to no more than two minutes and that you avoid repetition. Today we have the opportunity to have the invocation given by Pastor Jacob Perez of Fevrit, a Calvary Chapel. And then following that, we'll have the Pledge of Allegiance led by Riley Pollock of Shadow Ridge High School. Would you please stand? Thank you. Let's pray. Helen Father Lord, thank you so much for being God, our protector and provider, Lord. Thank you for providing these uh men and women here to lead the city. Lord, uh, we ask that you continue to endow them, Lord, with uh integrity and uprightness and character with wisdom and discernment all they do, Lord. We ask that you continue to protect and provide for everything that the city does, Lord, and we ask for protection for those that are in the front lines, like our T firefighters, Lord, and police officers. I just pray, Lord, for us as citizens that we continue to do our job to continue to love one another, Lord, and treating us children in kindness. And I pray, Lord, that you guide every single person here in what they are to do. We love you, God, Lord, and we thank you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Oh, thank you. So this uh wonderful uh young lady that just led us in the pledge is a sophomore at Shadow Ridge High School. She's a resident of Ward 3, and um she's uh a youth leader. She's compassionate and she's committed to community service and to the overall improvement of our community, and she's not just trying to do that in word only, she reached out to me in my office. I connected her with Mayor Goines Brown. We sat down together and she gave a very articulate and eloquent argument on why North Las Vegas, the third largest city in the state of Nevada, um, should have a youth advisory council. And so um, she planted the seed for that, and she's uh committed herself to be engaged in um pioneering that effort along with our staff. And so I just wanted to say how fortunate we are to have young people like Riley in our community. Thank you, Riley. Riley, would you like to share any additional information? Sure. I would love to other than walking back and forth. Okay. No, no, I mean, I'm not at swim team right now, so I could use the exercise. Um I'm almost 16, excited to get my driver's license. I'm a sophomore at Shadow Ridge High School. Um, I love art, but I'm also just really excited to create this like um youth council for the city to help youth voices be recognized and heard, and just like to serve the city. Yeah, thank you.
