The Oakland Public Ethics Commission convened for its regular meeting on October 11, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. Due to multiple absences and an unfilled seat, the commission lacked a quorum and was unable to take any action on the scheduled agenda items. The meeting was adjourned after opening remarks and a call for public comment, which yielded no speakers.
All right, let's go ahead and get started. This is the regularly scheduled October meeting of the Oakland Public Ethics Commission. And as I that sounds better. What happened was we had a couple of commissioners who were under the weather, and a commissioner who was out of town, and we have a vacancy on the commission because we have an unfilled seat. So because of that, uh, we knew this morning that we wouldn't have a quorum. So we let other commissioners know that they shouldn't come in. So stay tuned for that. But with that aside, I'll go ahead and take the role for uh official reasons. Commissioner Gage, Commissioner Gage is absent, Commissioner Pertit, Commissioner Pertit is absent, Commissioner Steele, Commissioner Steele is absent, Commissioner Upton, Commissioner Upton is absent, and I am present. So we do again do not have a quorum, so we will not be able to take action uh this evening, but however, we will take public comment before we adjourn. So are there any comments from the public? All right. Uh seeing no seeing none I do want to acknowledge that we do have a couple of staff members here. We have our executive director Nicholas Hydorn and we have uh Chris Gonzalez here who's uh our what's your official title Chris? Admin assistant and with that I will adjourn this meeting.
