Parker County Commissioners Court Regular Meeting – June 9, 2025

The Parker County Commissioners Court met in regular session on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 8:45 AM in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Parker County Courthouse in Weatherford, Texas. All five commissioners (Conley, Holt, Walden, Hale) and County Judge Pat Deen were present. The court approved a wide range of consent, approval, and plat items, discussed transportation projects, entered executive session, and unanimously advanced numerous actions.

Consent Calendar

• Items under Auditor, Treasurer, and County Judge (4A–C) were approved en bloc with a single motion.
• Purchasing items (4D1–6) were each approved individually via separate unanimous votes:
  • Authorization to advertise for road signs and related materials.
  • Purchase of a PI64T Mack Truck for Precinct 3 via HGAC contract.
  • Change Order #1 for the Mooring Construction PCSO Dispatch Expansion.
  • Contract with Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott, LLP for collection of fines and fees owed to Parker County.
  • Addendum #1 for the Sentrics Panic Button System.

All 16 items were approved unanimously. Highlights include:

• Proclamation of June 2025 as Elder Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month in Parker County.
• Authorization for the County Judge to execute bond issuance documents under IRS Section 147(f).

• Approval of Texas Workforce Commission Contract No. 2925EDE085 with the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.
• Interlocal Agreement for Road Repairs with the City of Azle.
• Addendum to Municipal-County Contract for Road Repair with the City of Brock and Precinct 3.
• Claim Service Agreement with Claims Compensation Bureau, LLC for Discover and EMV Chip Claims.

Transportation Projects Update (Item 5)

• Ongoing reporting of bond projects by Freese and Nichols was discussed; no action taken.
• Construction Contract for Ric Williamson Memorial Highway was approved unanimously.
• Construction Phase Services contract for Ric Williamson Memorial Highway was approved unanimously.
• Survey services for the Ric Williamson Memorial Highway Bridge at US 180 were discussed; no action recorded.

Notification (Item 6)

• Update on the appointment to the TxDOT Regional Steering Committee was provided.
• TxDOT directive to update the County Strategic Plan and develop a Master Transportation Plan was noted.
• The court discussed and approved a new deadline for Commissioners Court agenda item submissions (motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Conley, unanimous).

Reports Accepted into Minutes (Item 8)

• Accepted into minutes: Annual Financial Reports/Audits for Parker County ESD No. 1 and No. 8; Buildings & Grounds Department quarterly report; executed automatic bank draft authorizations for auto registration transactions (three entities); executed Mooring Construction PCSO Dispatch Expansion Professional Services Agreement; executed Career and Technical Education Internship Agreement with Constable Precinct Two; executed interlocal agreements for inmate housing with Wise County, City of Azle, and Haskell County; and executed lease agreement between Parker County and Downtown Weatherford Initiative.

• Discussion regarding Calhoun Acres, LP.
• Fire Marshal position. Upon reconvening in open session, the court approved a motion regarding Calhoun Acres, LP (motion by Commissioner Conley, seconded by Hale, unanimous). No other actions from executive session were recorded.
