Parker County Commissioners Court Regular Meeting – March 23, 2026

The Parker County Commissioners Court convened in regular session on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Parker County Courthouse, Weatherford, Texas. The meeting was called to order with all members present: County Judge Pat Deen, Commissioner George Conley (Precinct 1), Commissioner Holt (Precinct 2), Commissioner Walden (Precinct 3), and Commissioner Hale (Precinct 4). County Attorney John Forrest and Deputy County Clerk Terri Moore were also present. The court addressed a full agenda including consent items, presentations, multiple approvals, transportation updates, plats, and an executive session. The meeting recessed at 11:18 a.m., entered closed session at 11:30 a.m., reconvened in open session at 11:55 a.m., and adjourned at 12:01 p.m.

• Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month: The court proclaimed April 2026 as Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in Parker County, presented by Diana Aslin, Executive Director of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Parker County. • Loan Agreement with Bullock Museum: The court approved a loan agreement with the Bullock Texas State History Museum to loan a historical decorative carved squirrel from April 8, 2026, to February 28, 2027, for an exhibition.   • Snow Plow for Precinct 1: Approved purchase through Buyboard contract 703-23 from Gulf Highway Equipment, with funding confirmed. Motion by Conley, second by Hale. Carried.

• Budget Process and Timeline: The court approved a motion directing the County Judge to make a formal request for other entities to submit their proposed budgets by July 15th, subject to any state funding changes received after that date. Motion by Commissioner Holt, second by Commissioner Walden. Motion carried.
• Budget Advisory Committee: A motion by Commissioner Conley to select members died due to lack of a second; Conley withdrew his motion. No action taken.
• Mailbox Repair Requisitions: Initial motion by Commissioner Holt (subject to a $2,500 maximum, homeowner’s choice of vendor, signing a release, and direct payment to vendor) died due to lack of a second; Holt withdrew. Subsequently, a motion by Holt and seconded by Walden to fix the mailbox on Ellis Creek, including documentation, location, photo, and a release from the County Attorney, was approved. Executive Session

• The court entered closed session at 11:30 a.m. under Texas Government Code Sections 551.071, 551.072, and 551.076 to discuss consultation with attorney, real estate, and security matters. Topics included land development regulations, the Parker County Justice Center and Jail, allocation and improvements of county real estate, website security upgrade, and IT security/radio system update. The court reconvened in open session at 11:55 a.m. No action was taken on any executive session item except for a motion (by Holt, second by Walden) to approve Precinct 2 employees accessing a site subject to an agreement from the landowner for necessary site improvements and public safety.   • Maintenance Bonds: Approved calling the maintenance bonds for Whispering Winds Phase One, Whispering Winds Phase Two, and Monarch Manor Phase Three. Each motion by Holt, second by Walden. All carried.
