Parker County Commissioners Court Regular Meeting - May 11, 2026

The Parker County Commissioners Court met in regular session on May 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioner's Courtroom, Parker County Courthouse, Weatherford, Texas. The meeting was presided over by County Judge Pat Deen, with Commissioners George Conley (PCT 1), Steve Holt (PCT 2), Larry Walden (PCT 3), and John Hale (PCT 4) present. County Attorney John Forrest and Deputy County Clerk Terri Moore were also in attendance. The meeting opened with an invocation by Steve Bryant of Brownstone Church and pledges led by Judge Pro Tem Commissioner Conley. The meeting adjourned at 10:38 a.m.

Discussion Items

• Recognition of Holland Lake Rehabilitation and Wellness Center: Administrator Donna Tillman and Director of Nurses Rhonda Edwards addressed the Court to mark the center's 30th anniversary serving Parker County. The Court recognized their dedication. Motion by Commissioner Walden, seconded by Commissioner Hale, to approve the recognition. Motion carried.
• Update on Transportation Projects: Morgan McElwain of Freese & Nichols provided an update on ongoing reporting of bond projects. No action was taken.
• Regional Transportation Council Meeting Update: County Judge Deen and County Relations Officer Bryan Grimes provided information. This was an update only; no action.
• Wright House Renovations and TPTF Grant: Discussion of renovations to the Wright House, including moving $64,250 from program contingency for the grant match, and FY2026 Historical Commission budget. No action was taken.
• Overtime Payment Policy for Future Disasters: Discussion on creating a county policy authorizing overtime payment in the event of a declared local disaster. No action was taken.
• Executive Session: The Court entered into closed session at 10:12 a.m. pursuant to Texas Government Code Sections 551.071 (consultation with attorney), 551.072 (real estate), and 551.076 (security). Topics included land development regulations, the Justice Center and Jail, allocation of county real estate, County Website security upgrade, and IT network/radio system update.
