The city of Post Falls is excited to host the Post Falls Festival Parade this Saturday as part of our America 250 celebration.

and travels along Celtics Way from Frederick Street to Idaho Road.

We invite everyone to come out and enjoy this community tradition.

And the annual Post Falls Festival returns this weekend, July 10th through 12th at Chameleon Park with live entertainment, local vendors, food, family activities, and more.

Festival highlights include movie in the park, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and fun activities for all ages.

Free parking and shuttle service will be available throughout the weekend.

The city has launched a new comprehensive plan survey focused on future land use and growth in Post Falls.

The comprehensive plan establishes the long-term goals and policies that guide nearly every aspect of city planning and decision making.

Residents are encouraged to participate and share their vision for what they would like to see Post Falls look like over the next 20 years.

The site was a former landfill that has been remediated. Proposed development: 29 homes including townhouses, twin homes, and a single-family home, with about 24% green space. Staff noted the RM zone allows up to 50% multifamily; the applicant committed to single-family townhomes only. The planning commission recommended approval. Council questioned transportation capacity and housing mix. The council found the annexation in the city’s best interest and approved both the annexation and zoning motions.

Coliform bacteria were detected after initial attempts. The contractor’s disinfection procedures were found to have variances from specification. Council debated responsibility and risk, but approved the amendment to allow JUB and a hydrogeologist to guide further disinfection and preserve city rights for potential recovery.

- Reconsidered after earlier council direction to limit multifamily uses.
