Hell development corporation meeting to order.

0:04

Would you please call it Megan Canavan?

0:08

Um we'll be arriving late.

0:10

Um Steve Flarity.

0:12

Here.

0:12

Mark Goodwin.

0:14

Ryan Jenkins.

0:16

Heather Carr here.

0:17

Sean Keller?

0:18

Here.

0:19

Philip Whitaker.

0:20

Andrew White.

0:21

Here.

0:22

Tim Wilson.

0:24

Okay.

0:27

We are now the nominating committee for the real estate committee chair for one director of nomination.

0:36

Thank you.

0:38

So uh the nominating committee uh Heather Andy and Phil um did meet with a couple candidates uh who were that position.

0:51

Um Mr.

0:52

Kelly over here was one of the two.

0:55

Um and obviously the selection because he's in the room.

1:01

With with Sean's background and um commercial real estate, especially on the financial side and and development and financial side of that um and his uh huge contributions to the community from both the banking side and personally, it made sense to really bring somebody with that caliber on the door um to lead that that brand new initiative for the organization.

1:26

Welcome looking forward to it.

1:27

Thank you.

1:28

Yeah, exciting things going on and looking forward to thoughtful.

1:34

Okay, with that, we are doing the election numbers.

1:38

We'll need that uh not we'll need a motion to accept him as important.

1:42

Is there a motion?

1:45

And the second all those in favor, say hi.

1:53

Yeah, now you're important.

1:56

Okay, when you made that motion with Sean Keller and Sean Hughes, so we don't incidentally each all right.

2:10

With that, we are just gonna follow third.

2:15

I'll be on the scroll.

2:17

All right, so this is um honestly not just due to the fact that we've already organized it's actually the first time we've done this in a while um with the election of officers.

2:28

So um I think we're we're just gonna go position by position, opening up for nominations, and then um we'll start with the chair so that person can then start leaving the meetings on the end of the meeting and start working on the nominations with the other uh positions.

2:44

Um as you have if you have questions about each of the positions and kind of a job title, if you will uh just let me know.

2:51

Um the first one is the chairman, who's obviously leading all the meetings um and the initiatives from a strategic standpoint uh for the organization for agent with the handy just discussion-wise, I think for the board perspective, personally um since I've been working with the city uh the mayor's because I should have tell that because of the complicity different roles.

3:16

That means that I think the board needs to weigh in because one of them for policy protective of the council and all the instruction was to bring in your perspective for the tables.

3:26

So certainly because we've done it just way in the past, and not the other double point of another full.

3:33

Um I thought we'd have some conversation about that.

3:36

Obviously, the continuity of the position with the city is helpful.

3:40

Um, and if we organize our meetings in the city for that work with staff, I I think it'd be good place to start if you were interested in that, but I just want to raise the issue with uh words where they call that.

3:52

So I would like I would love for someone to volunteer, and some of it is um, I think for me a perception issue as we're looking at this being a more independent body while there are city positions on it.

4:09

I would like to see it be like more community-led unless away.

4:21

So I just throw that out there.

4:24

No pressure.

4:38

Oh gosh, we can be alone.

4:44

I'll second other you're a equality.

4:55

So that will help out a little bit.

4:58

All right, so we are to the vice chair position.

5:01

Do we need to do nominations over just do it all at once?

5:06

Yeah, my we should probably do that.

5:11

So is chairman like just for running meetings or like getting the agenda together or like what's the chairman um in my mind more or less running meeting now and kind of be the the chief strategy person, um although um for the first time every we'll be installing the executive director, so that person will be gonna respond to I think the day today and and carry out the strategy on the chair function.

5:43

So I think does that make sense of two of we have staff dedicated to make uh job or policy decision making so uh I don't there is definitely coordination with staff but a lot of our work that would be more administrative when we think about staff right and then coordination by the chair and fight the board as well I don't want to add a vote and then I'm gonna do it okay but I'm happy to nominate Ron South nomination.

6:23

I'm happy not there is over I I don't honestly don't think that um right now the the field of officer positions are gonna take a tremendous amount of time and I can do the takeoff but I just don't know whether you want to like a lot of hours and the the committee chairs will actually have more probably than the officers to post it than the committees and kind of bring it back um that's thanks to the full board so from the plugin wherever I nominally is there a second okay so do you want to roll call the lane or do you want um consensus?

7:17

Either way, whatever you're most comfortable with.

7:20

Okay, all those in favor stay aye.

7:25

You sir are now here by me.

7:29

Super easy.

7:31

Yes.
