The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners met on June 2, 2026, at 9:00 AM in Council Chambers. All seven commissioners were present (Jebens-Singh, McGuire, McMurtrey, Miller, Moran, Xiong, and Chair Ortega), along with County Manager Ling Becker and Assistant County Attorney Stacey D'Andrea. The meeting included unanimous approval of the consent agenda, a presentation on aging and disability services, and reports from the county manager and commissioners. The board also held a closed meeting following the regular session.
Deputy Director Katy Molinare presented an update on the aging and disability services division, focusing on the impact of the 80 additional full-time equivalent (FTE) positions approved by the board on March 18, 2025. She reported that the division had moved from a state of crisis to operational stability:
County Manager Ling Becker reported on the successful relocation of public health clinical services from 555 Cedar to 1850 Beam Avenue in Maplewood, which opened June 1. Services at the new location include Clinic 555, immunization clinic, TB clinic, and public health lab. House calls and sexual violence services moved to other county sites; syringe services remain downtown. Becker also recognized the chief clerk's office for supporting board processes and noted that board materials are posted by Thursday afternoon for the following Tuesday. Property Management Director Gene Kruger promoted Train Days at Union Depot (June 6–7), celebrating the depot's 100th anniversary. Expected attendance of 10,000 per day. The depot surpassed one million annual visitors for the first time since reopening.
Commissioners provided updates on community events, board meetings, and collaborative efforts:
Here. McGuire. Here. McMurtry. Here. Miller. Here. Moran. Here. Zhang. Here. And Ortega. Hi. Could we say the leader? I'm glad to be too much. And to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God individual with liberty and justice rule. I mean acknowledgement Commissioner Singh. Every community owes its existence and vitality to generations from around the world who contributed their hopes, dreams, and energy to making the history that led to this moment. Some were brought here against their will. Some were drawn to leave their distant homes in hope of a better life. And some have lived on this land since time memorial. Truth and acknowledgement are critical to building mutual respect and connection across all barriers of heritage and difference. We are standing on the ancestral lands of the Dakota people. We want to acknowledge the Ojibwe, the Ho Chunk, and the other nations of people who also call this place home. We pay respects to their elders, past and present. Please take a moment to consider the treaties made by the tribal nations that entitle non-native people to live and work on traditional native lands. Consider the many legacies of violence, displacement, migration, and settlement that bring us together here today. And please join us in uncovering such truths at any and all public events. Thank you, Commissioner. I'll intend a motion for the agenda of June 2nd, 2026. So moved. Second. See no discussion, roll call. Chebin Singh. Aye. McGuire. Aye. McMurtry. Aye. Miller. Aye. Moran. Zhang. Aye. And Ortega. I'll entertain a motion on the minutes of May 26, 2026. So move. Second. Seeing no discussion, roll call.
