- Transportation Advisory Committee Interviews: The City Council interviewed applicants for two vacant seats on the Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC): one partial term expiring June 30, 2023, and one full term expiring May 31, 2025. Four applicants were considered: Alan Thrasher (in-person), Talia Perlman (via Zoom), Taylor Pope (via Zoom), and one applicant who was unable to attend and requested consideration based on their application.
- Alan Thrasher: Stated he has over 20 years of marketing and strategic planning experience, a passion for transportation, and a desire to give back to the community. He expressed interest in Vision Zero and other city initiatives.
- Talia Perlman: Resident of District 7 for over a decade. Expressed support for safe, realistic transportation options and highlighted her experience in public health. She praised the Vera Bicycle Boulevard project and emphasized the need for more non-driving transportation options.
- Taylor Pope: Resident of West Roosevelt neighborhood. Active with the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and regular attendee of TAC and council meetings. He expressed strong support for the Redwood City Walk Bike Thrive Plan, particularly goals to eliminate traffic fatalities by 2030 and reach 50% non-automotive mode share by 2040. He also emphasized the importance of the transit district grade separation and the 101/Woodside Interchange project.
- The fourth applicant did not appear but was noted as having applied.

Good evening. Welcome to our meeting. We're still in our special meeting. Following the special meeting, we'll be starting our regular meeting of the city council. So we just completed our closed session. There is no reportable action taken in closed session for the agenda item in 4A. And now we're moving on to Transportation Advisory Committee interviews. I know everybody else is not here for that. We will get on to other items shortly. But we do have a few other items on the agenda in advance. So we're going to move to item five on the special agenda, which is our transportation advisory committee interviews. We're going to be interviewing for two vacant seats on the Transportation Advisory Committee. And before proceeding to the interviews, we're going to take public comment. I'm going to ask our city clerk to please facilitate that public comment. Thank you, Mayor Hale. Now is the time for public comment on item number five of the special meeting agenda. If you have attended today to make public comment on the transportation advisory committee interviews, please submit a speaker card. And if you have joined us via Zoom, please cue up and raise your hand right now. And I do not have any speaker cards for in-person speakers on this item. I do have one, two, three, four raised hands, and this is for the Transportation Advisory Committee interviews. I'm going to start calling the in the Okay, we're losing speakers. Just want to be very clear. We are taking public comment on transportation advisory committee interviews. I have no speaker cards for in-person speakers, and I do not have any hands queued up for our attendees on Zoom. So I there is no public comment for this item. Thank you. Okay, then we'll proceed with our interviews. So for our candidates, and I'm sure you weren't expecting as large of an audience, but we're delighted to have you here. And the timer will begin when you start speaking. And please note that there was one applicant who was unable to attend in person this evening. So the application the applicants are excused after their interview. They don't have to stay. But they're very much welcome to stay if they'd like to for the rest of the meeting to observe. I'm now going to turn the process over to the city clerk to please facilitate. Thank you, Mayor Hale. The City Council will now conduct their interviews to fill two vacant seats on the Transportation Advisory Committee. One is for a partial term seat that will expire on June 30th, 2023, and one is for a seat that will expire on May 31st, 2025. The council has four applicants. We have one applicant in person today. We have two applicants who have appeared via Zoom. And as mentioned, we have one applicant who was not able to appear today, but um has requested they be considered for the seat based on their application. I'm going to call your names in alphabetical order. You'll come forward to the podium, and you will have three minutes to give your responses to the questions that were provided in advance, and we will also put those questions on the screen.
