As a reminder, items will be taken in the order in which they are listed on the agenda.

Before we get started, I wanted to briefly go over the public comment procedures for the meeting for those who may be joining us for the first time.

Public comments on items not on the agenda will be taken during item number two on the agenda.

Comments on other items will be taken only when that item is called.

We are continuing to offer in-person and remote options for our planning commission meetings.

However, due to continued recent disruptions during public comment at open meetings throughout the region and state, we've modified our public comment procedures.

The city welcomes public comments on topics within the city's subject matter jurisdiction, and this can be provided in person during the meeting or by email ahead of the meeting.

At this time we are temporarily suspending public comment provided by Zoom.

Our public comment procedures are as follows.

Public comment will be taken in person during the meeting or in advance via email to PC at redwoodcity.org.

In-person speakers must turn in a speaker card.

Um comments that were emailed to the uh email address that I mentioned by 5 p.m.

today may be read into the record.

And both in-person and emailed comments are subject to the three minute time limit.

Um item number two is public comments on items not on the agenda.

I have no speak no speaker cards, and I I need to ask if there are any public comments have been received by email.

So now we come to the first of the two uh two interview sessions, and this is always a great pleasure because we get to meet the people who have applied to be active participants in our city.

Um the first interviews will be for the historic resources advisory committee, followed by the architectural advisory committee.

Um the planning commission will interview Historic Resources Advisory Committee or HRAC applicants for appointment to two full-term seats.

The both those seats expire on May 31st, 2027.

Applicants will get four minutes to answer four questions, uh which uh you have been sent in advance and were able to prepare.

And we have two applicants.

Uh the first will be John Goldman, um, who will be uh joining us via via Zoom?

Is that correct?

Okay, great.

Um, and so I'm I'm going to for um for good process here.

I'm going to read the questions uh publicly.

Um, and then I would invite uh John to um to have his four minutes.

So the the questions that you've been asked to respond to are one.

Please briefly introduce yourself to the Planning Commission and tell us why you have applied for this committee and why you think the HRAC is important to the community.

Two, what experience and qualifications do you feel you have that would be helpful in committee decisions?

Three, what do you feel are some of the key considerations when evaluating whether an older structure is worthy of official designation as an historic resource?

And four, when considering an addition to a historic resource, what are some key considerations for evaluating the project?

And uh Sue, I think I should I turn it over to you to uh call the interviewees.
