Riverton Planning Commission Meeting: February 26, 2026

The Riverton City Planning Commission met on February 26, 2026, at 6:30 PM at City Hall (12830 S. Redwood Road). The meeting included four public hearings, one decision item, training, elections, and minutes approval. All votes were unanimous. The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:10 PM.

• Elections for PC Chair and Vice-Chair: Commissioner Matheson nominated Darren Park for Chair, and Commissioner Keel nominated Monique Beck for Vice-Chair. Both were elected unanimously for 2026, with discussion noting a recent code change allowing the Chair to serve multiple years.

Key Outcomes

• Timberline Development Agreement (PLZ-25-4009): The Commission voted to recommend approval to the City Council with modifications. The motion (Matheson, second Beck) required:
  1. Zoning changed to RM-6 (with lot sizes, setbacks, and road widths compliant with that zone).

  3. No vehicular access to 13550 South or 1775 West; 1775 West to terminate in a turnaround.

• My Storage Amended (PLZ-26-8002): Approved subject to conditions: (1) site plan and building architecture as amended, (2) rooftop mechanical must be screened, (3) all other improvements consistent with previously approved plans. (Motion by Keele, second Beck; unanimous.)
• Walmart Fuel Center Amended (PLZ-25-8023): Approved subject to condition that site plan improvements be consistent with presented plans. (Motion by Matheson, second Marzo; unanimous.)
• Walmart Supercenter Amended (PLZ-25-8024): Approved subject to conditions: (1) site plan improvements consistent with presented plans, (2) applicant shall correct or resolve any staff redlines on civil site plans. (Motion by Beck, second Marzo; unanimous.)
• Mountain View Village Development Agreement 2nd Amendment (Village Lofts Apartments): The Commission voted to recommend approval to increase residential units from 288 to 302 by replacing co-working space. No exterior changes. The developer plans to break ground in May–June 2026 with a 28-month build. (Motion by Park, second Matheson; unanimous.)
