It is the special meeting of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission for Thursday, November fifteenth, two thousand and eighteen.

We have a very brief uh agenda today.

And as I understand it, let's let's call our friends and neighbors and let them all know to come to the December meeting because that's where we're going to get everything, uh, bring everything back in line and get everything out in December.

And so let's just start this off with a roll call.

And so we have our arts program coordinator Raymond, who's gonna Ray who's gonna update us.

Yes, hi guys.

This year is the eighth year that we're partnering with the um county live uh airport system to bring holiday music at the airport in November and December.

And so in October, we held a panel with Commissioner Gilliam was on that panel.

Um we had 54 applicants for the uh panel, and we selected 29 artists or artist groups to perform uh based on the 29 spots that the airport have provided for us.

So um as soon as we have a final schedule and all of the crown contracts are in, we will get you a final schedule and we will post that on social media so everyone in the world knows that they can go see them perform.

But today we are asking you to prove the panel recommended roster of performers that you have in front of you.

Okay, so everyone should have a copy uh of the roster uh and panelist recommendation in front of them.

Um do uh any of the commissioners have any questions off the bat?

Uh uh Commissioner Mertz.

No, I will just recommend that we move to approve that um that roster.

Um what is the reimbursement?

Could we just get a sense of what the reimbursement for the artists are?

Uh oh, sorry.

Uh I was just interested in in how the artists are reimbursed and what the range is and whether it's all uniform or how that was arrived at.

It is all uniform.

Um we've been following the same pattern for the last few years.

Each individual artist gets 175 dollars per two hour performance up to um six performers with a maximum of eight seventy-five.

Is there any indication of the Is there an indication that this series of events is being sponsored and supported by the Metropolitan Arts Commission?

We will be on all of the materials you mean.

Yes, the one at the at the site of the performances.

Absolutely.

The airport takes care of um all of their displays, posters that have already been are in process of being made, and our logo is on there.

Um I just think that this program is an amazing uh way to expose uh people to art.

And um I am very happy that we are part of it, and I hope that this program continues.

Is uh we are in public places, and this is a way to bring art to people and also a little happiness during the holidays as well.

I was wondering if there is a um kind of information on the musical genre breakdown as far as uh just to outline the diversity of it, if it's you know, jazz or Latin Latin jazz or um anything like that.

I will tell you that it is across the board.

There's a little bit of everything.

I can get you that breakdown if you'd like.

Um but that was part of what the panel looked at.
