The Sacramento Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy Commission met on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 1:02 p.m. to 2:24 p.m. at City Hall Complex, 915 I Street. Vice Chair Luisa Lavulo presided in the absence of Chair Priscilla Enriquez. Ten commissioners were present. - Supporting Creative Vitality and Implementing the Creative Edge Plan (Item 2): Cultural and Creative Economy Manager Jason Jong led a discussion on ways the commission can better engage with local artists and communities. Director's Report

Matsui Waterfront Park.
- The Creative Venues Grant launched with federal ARPA funds, offering rapid response grants up to $5,000 and venue recovery grants of $10,000 and $25,000 for for-profit independent venues (music venues, galleries, bookstores) that support local talent. Questions due by June 20.
- A guaranteed income pilot listening session for working artists was scheduled for that evening (5:30–7:00 p.m.) at Celebration Arts.
- The Office of Arts and Culture completed a survey of its entire collection of over 450 artworks and is creating an online public database.

- Commissioner Martino reported that her shared studio space at 23rd and S Street is being sold, reflecting a broader crisis of affordable space for artists. She requested presentations from real estate developers who have worked with cultural organizations.
- Commissioner Lomeli emphasized the need for advanced scheduling and marketing of listening sessions, especially to engage K-12 schools.

- Vanessa Vilas, Executive Director of Sisters of the Creative Divine, invited commissioners to a pancake breakfast fundraiser on June 30 at Cathedral Plaza in downtown Sacramento. Tickets are $22 and include breakfast and a free mimosa. She offered her organization's help in spreading the word about commission meetings.
