Wonderful.

We want to begin opening our meeting tonight with a land acknowledgement and just recognizing that last week was Indigenous Peoples Day, and we have been opening our meetings of late with a land acknowledgement.

And so the history of the Sacramento area and the people is rich in heritage, culture, and tradition.

This area was and still is the tribal land of the Nishinan people.

Sacramento was a gathering place for many local tribes who lived throughout the Central Valley in the foothills for generations and were the original stewards of this land.

We'd like to acknowledge the Southern Maidun people to the north, the Valley and Plains Miwok peoples to the south of the American River.

And we would also like to honor the Patwin Wyntu people to the west of the Sacramento River.

We acknowledge that we are standing on the tribal lands of Sacramento's Indigenous people.

Again, welcome to the meeting of the Measure U Community Advisory Committee.

As a reminder, the committee's powers and duties by resolution are as follows to provide recommendations through the publication of an annual report that will be available on the city's website and presented to the Sacramento City Council, which will include a review of transactions and use tax revenues, recommendations on how to allocate resources to support inclusive economic development.

Recommendations should be informed by committee review and discussion of revenues from the transactions and use tax and information concerning city expenditures, advice to council on priorities, and review of performance measures and evaluation of city expenditures.

And also work with city staff on community engagement with respect to the transactions and use tax.

As a reminder, this meeting is taking place via Zoom.

So with that said, we are going to move into the first item on our agenda this evening, which is the approval of the Measure U Community Advisory Committee Fiscal Year 2019-20 annual report.

And I will turn this over to Ash Rugani for some context before we begin our discussion.

Um the committee, the subcommittee uh developed the report based on um the information that Ash was so kind to provide to us uh for um the auditor and um the other reviews.
