We have had uh a couple changes to our list since um the publishing of the package, and member or candidates Riley, Minsker, and Soto have contacted our office and asked to be withdrawn from consideration.

Um I am just getting some messages that people are having some difficulty with the weather.

So my recommendation since we have so many is maybe that we start at the beginning of the list and work through, but at the end we call back to see if anyone came after their name was called.

So members that um candidates, we're gonna ask you to step forward to the podium.

Um the questions that are on the screen behind us are the excuse me a second, we got yes, sir.

No, when you're finished, I I just want to make a brief opening comment.

So we'll ask you to answer these questions.

Um you will be given two minutes and we'll put the timer up.

Thank you very much, uh, Mr.

Chairman.

Thank you uh for chairing this.

Um, I want to uh thank everybody for being here today and and know that there will be more people.

Yeah, the weather is is uh tough today.

Uh I guess I just want to say um the mayor of the city here that um we the good news and the bad news.

Um the good news is we had a hundred and seventy or so people who applied to be a part of this measure you advisory committee, and that's very heartening to me because it shows that uh people are really engaged and interested as we pursue this incredible new opportunity in our city.

The bad news, if you will, is that um there are more than six in this instance because the nine are appointed by mayor and council, it's six that would be will be recommended by this committee.

There are more than six excellent candidates.

And so by definition, we're gonna have to disappoint some people, including some friends here.

I want to say to you if you're not selected, and I'm not looking at anybody, I'm looking up here.

Um, that if you're not selected, that there may be other opportunities as well.

There is the investment committee that um is under under the formal auspices of the city manager's office, but with significant input here from the mayor and council.

And then there are going to be many other ways to input uh into this process along the way.

So we're gonna do the very best we can, and uh we hope that uh we have your understanding here in terms of uh the challenge of so many good and qualified people and so few slots to fill.

We have so many people who are qualified who want to serve, who want to be helpful, and uh makes it a really difficult job for this committee uh to uh make the proper selections.
