Sacramento Planning & Design Commission Meeting (April 22, 2021)

- The city of Sacramento received two awards from the Sacramento Valley section of the American Planning Association: an Award of Excellence in Transportation Planning for the Sacramento Valley Station Area Plan (recommended by this commission and approved by Council on April 6), and an Award of Excellence in the Planning Agency category for the city’s planning division. The recognition highlighted the city’s planning academy (20 years), its commitment to updating the General Plan every five years, the cross-departmental Neighborhood Development Action Team, and streamlining measures such as the accessory dwelling unit ordinance and e-planning services. The city plans to apply for state-level APA recognition.
