Planning and Design Commission Regular Meeting – June 23, 2022

The Sacramento City Planning and Design Commission met via teleconference on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., adjourning at 8:00 p.m. The commission approved two consent items, conducted three public hearings (approving all four projects), and reviewed two discussion items. The commission also directed the applicant to work with adjacent neighbors on enhanced screening/landscaping. The project includes a 1,154 sq. ft. drive-through coffee shop, a rezone from C-1 to C-2, and a conditional use permit. (Motion by Commissioner Pluckebaum, seconded by Commissioner Boyd.)
  • San Juan Road Subdivision (P21-008) – Approved unanimously (11-0) to forward to City Council. The project will subdivide 8.43 acres into 77 single-family homes (for-sale) with a gated entrance, a general plan amendment, rezone to R-3A, tentative map deviations, tree removal, and design review. (Motion by Commissioner Covill, seconded by Vice Chair Hernandez.)
  • Commissioner Comments: Commissioner Boyd raised the status of the ad hoc parking committee. Staff noted an RFP is being drafted and a second meeting is being scheduled. Commissioner Chase confirmed interest in continuing the committee. Chair Macias Reed will follow up to fill a vacant committee seat.
