I was trying to figure out when the last time I was in these chambers, and I think it was maybe 10 years ago or 15 years ago.

Uh it's been a long time.

But I do appreciate being here.

Um I think uh when we think about uh the whole region, Sacramento, it's uh a point of pride for me.

Um I love Sacramento and um obviously my families have been here for a long time, and it's something that not only represents the best in um the country, but when I think about California itself, uh you know, Sacramento is a leading part of what we do in Congress.

I can't believe how many times people bring up California and Sacramento.

It's a point of pride for me, by the way.

So anyway, I want to say how great it is to be here, and I want to thank Alberto and all his staff for all the work that you've been doing.

It's one of these jobs, um, and I think it's life's work when we think about what happens, uh, particularly in what we're doing with employment now.

Who would have known, you know, 40 years ago, 30 years ago, how central it is to all of us, not only this region, but in the state and in this country too.

The board approved the resolution by roll call vote.
  • Item 11 – Zero Emission School Bus Grants to Folsom Cordova Unified School District: Program Manager Rafe Porter provided an update on the district’s zero-emission bus program, noting over $51 million invested, 20+ school districts served, and 200+ bus applications funded. The board approved a contract not to exceed $1.2 million for three additional zero-emission buses for Folsom Cordova, serving disadvantaged communities.
  • Item 12 – Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program Overview and Phase Two Application: Staff, joined by partners from Yolo County and SACOG, presented an overview.
