Thank you.

2:23

Okay.

2:24

My name is Vanessa Acosta.

2:26

I'm from District 2.

2:27

I am passing out some information to you.

2:29

If you guys could kind of read it in silent, only because it does speak about ACS and it's for safety purposes.

2:36

Um there's just a lot.

2:37

And are your comments about the consolidated plan for the HUD program that we just discussed?

2:44

Oh no, this is for public comment.

2:46

Okay.

2:46

Did you sign?

2:48

I signed up.

2:48

You did sign up for public comment.

2:50

Okay, so we will hear from you on this item then in the next thank you.

2:54

Oz Nunez.

2:58

Public comment as well.

3:00

Okay.

3:01

Antonio Diaz.

3:09

And then Diana Udie I guess.

3:24

Uh my concerns are for the house list that this monies that are in grants monies coming into the city and for our 27 to 2031 budget.

3:34

It not all just be spent to tear down encampments, but actually be used to house houseless people.

3:43

So again, I I see the captions, but uh no no uh uh actual how it will be spent.

3:54

I've seen that monies uh will be addressed towards tearing down encampments.

4:00

There's no numbers as to how many I see some that are being housed at this point, but a bigger effort needs to be made towards addressing the uh houseless or the homeless issues of San Antonio.

4:16

I think we addressed this for veterans already.

4:19

So I don't know if this is for more for uh people that such as AIDS and other medical problems that may exist for houseless people, but help needs to be addressed not just to tearing down where they are in camp because they don't have any place else to stay, but actually create housing through these grants.

4:45

Thank you, Diana Uri, I guess.

4:54

Well, I want you to uh hi.

4:58

Um I would like, you know, for y'all to use this budget money to help the people on housing and on uh safety issues because of those houses that exploded.

5:22

Uh just help the people, please.

5:29

We need drainage, too.

5:33

There's a lot of stuff that needs to be done in this city.

5:38

Hopefully, y'all will fix it.

5:41

Are you the group to fix it?

5:44

Or do we have to wait for another one?

5:48

I hope y'all will be the ones to help the people out here in San Antonio.

5:54

Instead of giving the money out, place that money back in the vouchers that was removed from housing vouchers, and and having people homeless because of it, or having to stay with their relatives or whatever.

6:13

I know none of you wanna be staying with relatives or parents or anything.

6:19

You wanna you want your freedom, right?

6:22

So do everybody else.

6:34

Please do the right thing, work for the people.

6:51

That's the final speaker for the public hearing, and the time is now 5 15 um and public hearing is closed.

7:00

We'll now move on to public

Summary of Proceedings

San Antonio City Council Public Comment and Public Hearing on Consolidated Plan - June 10, 2026

The San Antonio City Council held a public comment meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 5:08 PM. The meeting included a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2027-2031 Consolidated Plan and FY2027 Annual Action Plan and Budget for the city's four HUD entitlement grant programs (CDBG, HOME, ESG, and HOPWA). No votes or council deliberations occurred during this portion of the meeting; the council heard public testimony and then moved to general public comment.

Public Hearing

  • Oz Nunez expressed concern that grant monies should be used to actually house homeless individuals rather than only tearing down encampments. He noted that while some homeless veterans have been housed, a greater effort is needed to create housing for others, including those with AIDS and other medical conditions.
  • Diana Uriegues urged the council to use the budget to help people with housing and safety issues, citing recent house explosions. She requested that funding be restored to housing vouchers that were removed, which she said contributed to homelessness. She also called for improved drainage and asked the council to work for the people.

Public Comments

  • The transcript ends before the public comment session begins. Vanessa Acosta had signed up to speak but was deferred to the public comment portion; her remarks are not recorded.

Key Outcomes

  • The public hearing was opened at 5:09 PM and closed at 5:15 PM. No motions or decisions were made. The meeting then proceeded to the public comment portion (not fully transcribed).

Note: No agenda or minutes were provided; summary is based solely on the raw transcript.
