Here today, we have three council members elect who are going to be formally and warmly welcomed back to public service in Sandy. I'm Cindy Sharkey, and on behalf of the City Council, I have the distinct honor and privilege of welcoming my three former colleagues back to their seats on the council dais. Brooke Christensen, where'd she go? I broke. Brooke Christensen, representing District One, Chris Nickel, representing District Three, and Brooke D'Souza, representing Sandy Citywide. Today's remarks mark an important occasion. One we observe every two years to administer a very important oath, one that mustn't be taken lightly. They aren't just words to be repeated, they're promises to be kept. Sandy has a distinct form of government where the legislative and budgetary authority lies with the city council. It's a big responsibility. And this year we will have a veteran council made up of experienced members who have made who have already shown their commitment to public service in Sandy.
