Yeah, that's what I need to this is what I need, so I have to start playing remember this is I don't know how couple minutes.

0:27

But it won't play whatever might be a minute.

0:41

Okay, but yeah, that's all I need that to that's the part I need running that I don't know how to start that.

0:49

Yeah, so this is now for it.

0:55

So that's a hard one.

0:57

It's probably almost a minute and a half time.

1:01

Okay.

1:06

And when you're done, yeah.

35:21

There we go.

35:22

I think I work with that.

35:25

I can hear you now.

35:32

It's giving me giving me three.

36:30

Not particularly.

36:31

I've not done a whole lot of that, but it doesn't surprise me.

36:36

It probably you probably have to save it in HCMS.

36:40

Which is just like when you edit the website and you start to put a picture in there, it's going to be in the same spot.

36:50

Yeah, that'd be my yes, but I don't know.

36:54

I'm not sure hundred percent sure that I don't do a whole lot of putting the images in it.

37:36

I've not done I do most of the back end stuff.

37:40

Making it work in the back end and process stuff.

37:43

I've not done a whole lot of yeah, but it just depends on what you're doing.

38:32

And forwards is just really basic.

38:34

This is this is a little bit more powerful.

39:10

I guess you can reschedule it.

46:57

Yeah, I got it back, but I think I have an issue with uh our SDI encoder.

47:08

Um it's not working here.

47:15

So I just this is the SDI encoder.

47:19

And this isn't linking.

47:22

But if I go fog it back into the SDI encoder, it's like every four seconds between black weeks, right?

47:32

Yeah, just go black for a second.

47:36

I'll plug it back in here one time.

47:51

Which is the one which is the one I was worried about because that's the one thing we didn't replace in it.

48:06

Uh just the whole brand that is deal with telling us the HDMI L and quota.

48:21

Well, the the answer the answer was was uh here we go.

48:40

I got the video back.

48:42

But it doesn't blink coming out of the encoder so it's in the extra one.

48:54

STI solidarity or something.

49:02

We're hitting the point where that's what I'm saying.

49:29

I I can do we get one of two ways at this point.

49:34

Um I can plug in the list and see yes, yeah, it's off.

49:39

I wasn't getting that plugged directly into the HD minus goes in the base controller, so it's something with with this is having an issue.

49:55

I'm gonna plug it into it over my feeling and see if I can figure out how to do that.

50:02

Um we might want to try to have a call and see if it's if they can sure if there's something I can't get into this, we'll have to have them come out and say if this is fab, or okay, we're gonna have to pay for end up paying enough to come out either way at this point because I error at least when I run the cable from that from that now down with the my monitor, it doesn't flee.

50:39

And I just looked almost every four seconds, so you want to turn around.

50:47

Yeah, and I I rebooted I rebooted this, and then I found that the cable had wiggled somehow were probably yesterday what we were getting in here, got slid out of this just enough that it wasn't seeded.

51:03

So I reseeded it, rebooted it, and now I said that's why you're getting those signals is when we were back in here and I would trace the wire that probably grabbed it and pulled it just enough that it didn't look like it was undone, but when I pushed on it, it did slide it, and then I rebooted the device, and then all of a sudden now I had signaled my number model monitoring.

51:27

Well, so Jason and I talked about this that we're gonna do the we want to do a confidence monitor.

51:35

But uh like they had um you need the witness down into the uh West orders.

51:40

They have uh essentially they intercept, they have a uh 15 dollar SBI um receiver that put that it takes the signal and it puts it out, it just sits in the middle of it, and it just you can just come in and then you plug at it and see it there without having to fluff with any and then you can see that that's what they that's what he called it in the confidence model page.

52:05

Yeah.

52:05

And so Jason and I were like, yeah, let's put that in there because that's not a lot of money.

52:11

Yeah, it was 150 bucks, then and so it's one of those where it's like, okay, that's not that's that's any so okay, so we'll probably have to have money around that sounds like yeah, I think I bit the I I mean if I plug in still going to stop.

52:33

I think I'll very good, yeah.

52:37

So but I've narrowed it down to this, so for some and the signal doesn't seem to be doing that out of the HD line out, so yeah.

52:52

So here's the watch show control for that.

53:03

No, I did you see I sent them a follow-up email today.

53:05

I would love and I didn't see anything.

53:10

And so they're not in the office.

53:12

Unplug day.

53:13

Apparently it's unplugged day.

53:15

Where's it?

53:17

I don't know.

53:18

Like we need to have the paper now.

53:29

No, she's not gonna unplug it.

53:33

So yeah, so I I think we're probably actually better at this point is to have the the call and have announced with this service.

53:41

Okay.

53:49

So I want to ask you if maybe they didn't be too other encoder or one installation.

54:03

No, we did uh I think we're gonna be okay because um we get you know, we get a bad signal, but we get a signal.

54:12

We can make sure that it's we're still gonna have the same point in video, but we'll have solid audio and um all right, and so I think we can still be I don't think that'll affect that timeline.

54:27

Okay, so we'll we'll thank you for troubleshooting this.

54:32

Yeah, well, at least I know what happened, and I've heard I'm pretty sure because I was tracing wires and HDMIs and calling on things yesterday, and so I'm pretty sure that's why we lost it completely.

54:45

That did this is I it's I bumped it just enough that it came unseated and so there was no signal.

54:52

And then when I pushed it back in and then rebooted it all of a sudden I now have signals.

54:56

So I can so fly and open it.

55:00

We have a back that's built in.

55:02

Yeah, so uh were you uh planning because it's probably not gonna work for my time all better now.

55:10

Yeah, call it okay.

55:13

But yeah, let her know that it's for sure they're gonna want to upload the zoom recording and uh the crane just reporting.

55:22

Okay, so I'll go upstairs and I got a call for this, and then bump the screen out of the or a projector out projector at a call when they were reading, and now it's all what is you I might have to be calling them to come out and look at that too.

55:42

Um I end this yes, I am done.

55:46

There's nothing else I can really do now.

55:48

Alrighty.

55:49

So I am going for you to end that.

55:53

And did you did you look anything on the audio or your audio issues?

55:58

Oh, I didn't look at those yet.

56:00

I have no idea what I did not, I did not pull up that to look at that yet.

56:06

I got I checked right right how it was five minutes before you walked in.

56:10

I like what I had to do yesterday was basically I turned down Zoom as a zoom volume, and then I cranked down the program volume on the on the uh uh Xtrom thing.

56:25

So I don't know if I also turned on the master volume because it was the person presenting the soul out, and I was like, is it but then again it seems to be good, what's happening.

56:39

Let's see, because that was you were saying the mics were all out of they were all of them were all over the place too.

56:45

Some of them sounded perfect, others sounded perfect.

56:47

I had CDs turned all the way down.

56:50

Where that's not on the one now.

56:52

Yeah, because I didn't look at I did not look at so I I wonder if I turned this up and that was the problem.

57:03

Oh that wouldn't affect that shouldn't affect these.

57:08

That would only affect in Zoom.

57:10

I think we've always had these with all these microphones.

57:13

It's in my product with T pro but it might be I haven't been happy with their microphone for that's just yeah, I they're just too quick to blame it on like my edit, and I'm like, yeah, that's hard if that but readjust you know, you know what I mean?

57:33

No, well, but it it did make me feel a little better that they have the same issue with their mics and West Jordan that we do.

57:42

Yeah, yeah.

57:43

That did make me feel a little bit better about the situation.

57:46

I agree.

57:47

Um it's not like it's still like I feel like there's gotta be a solution.

57:55

Last night was just weird.

57:56

There was all kinds of like we kept getting like minor feedback.

58:00

I kept having to just adjust everybody's so yeah, maybe, but see, and I didn't change anything other than I connected the I didn't touch anything in here that I that I thought.

58:11

So I don't know.

58:12

I just kind of take it to you have one problem, so maybe that's why.

58:17

Yeah.

58:19

And I think we still have an open bunch of crisp printer blanket PO for them for this year.

58:29

My computer struggles.

58:32

It's getting old because we have no money for one.

58:35

Uh sorry.

58:37

That's okay.

58:38

This budget here has mailing address.

58:42

Yeah, okay, it's like a push right.

58:44

I'm hoping next year's not the same.

58:47

Let's see.

58:49

I'm like to the point of how much more can you cut.

58:53

I think there's just already people leaving downside out.

59:04

You know, that's just not one.

59:10

That's like mutation, but it it is hard to just do it.

59:14

I'll look in here look fine.

59:18

Like they all like these are the the input levels, and they're all we've made them all match.

59:28

So did the did you adjust the volume on the G non type?

59:33

Yeah, so what I did uh on the PC is I I think I messed with this when I was trying to test stuff.

59:39

Okay.

59:40

And I moved this all the way to what I don't remember where it was at before.

59:45

Yeah, we just stick it away.

59:49

I don't know if you have a uh I don't know.

1:00:00

It was just uh crazy loud at first.

1:00:11

This is different.

1:00:13

Usually that's just all the way up.

1:00:41

Uh for the one Sandy awards.

1:00:46

And uh and it's like screwed with my computer.

1:01:06

Is that that better?

1:01:07

Still really loud.

1:01:09

Yeah.

1:01:11

Oh, it went all the way back to our country.

1:01:13

Is it attached totached to this?

1:01:15

Oh no, is it?

1:01:17

I don't pay attention.

1:01:19

It is.

1:01:32

Yeah.

1:01:35

If we I mean that I think that sounds pretty good.

1:01:47

Okay.

1:01:50

Try to remember which one's just kind of a baseline.

1:01:56

Okay.

1:01:58

Do I get on the mic?

1:02:03

This is where I can never remember which one two.

1:02:09

So yeah, I gotta get this one was like crazy loud yesterday.

1:02:23

Normal today.

1:02:25

Sounds just like this one.

1:02:26

Yeah.

1:02:27

I don't I don't know, man.

1:02:29

I I promise you I'm not crazy.

1:02:32

Justin mentioned it too.

1:02:33

He was like, what was up with the mice?

1:02:34

I was like, I don't know, man.

1:02:35

They're all over the place.

1:02:37

So it's I think it's fine.

1:02:39

Maybe it was just a Yeah.

1:02:41

I think we're okay.

1:02:42

I don't know.

1:02:43

It sounds fine for me.

1:02:45

I it does too.

1:02:46

Yeah, it does for me as well now.

1:02:47

Okay.

1:02:48

So yeah, I don't know.

1:02:51

Well, maybe that was something with what what and I was uh might have touched something.

1:02:56

Like I don't I logged into this.

1:02:59

I was clicking around in on these settings to try to see like outputs and stuff, and I may have clicked on something, but when the I didn't save what I did, and so when the room restarted.

1:03:11

Yeah, I could have it reset it.

1:03:14

Well, that's good to know that this is tied to the computer.

1:03:16

Yeah, because I did adjust that.

1:03:18

And that's I've never adjusted that before.

1:03:20

Oh no, I thought that yeah, I whatever happened with that, that's just it's just weird.

1:03:35

I can't click.

1:03:42

But okay.

1:03:46

Cool, man.

1:03:47

All that planning commission that are playing no finding no one, I'll go schedule.

1:03:51

I'll go call it schedule the I guess we'll just plan on, you know, this is this is new.

1:03:58

This firm for support smart integration pieces.

1:04:07

Oh, there it goes.

1:04:08

It's just on there for that's a that's a new screen.

1:04:11

Yeah, yeah.

1:04:14

So thanks, man.

1:04:16

Thanks for figuring that out.

1:04:19

Okay.

1:04:20

Well, I figured out what the problem is.

1:04:22

It's not Hey, that's like ninety percent of the battle.

1:04:25

Yeah.

1:04:25

So I'm not sure if you're not gonna

Summary of Proceedings

City of Sandy AV Technical Troubleshooting Session - April 15, 2026

This session was an informal staff meeting focused on resolving audiovisual equipment issues in the city meeting room. Participants (likely IT/AV staff) discussed problems with an SDI encoder, HDMI connections, and microphone levels. No formal public business, agenda items, or decisions were made. The session ended with plans to schedule a service call and prepare for an upcoming planning commission meeting.

Discussion Items

  • SDI Encoder and HDMI Cable Issue: A participant reported that the encoder was losing signal and showing black frames every four seconds. After tracing wires, a loose HDMI cable was found and reseated, restoring video signal. Reboot resolved the issue, but the encoder may need replacement.
  • Confidence Monitor Plan: Staff discussed installing a confidence monitor in the chamber using a $150 receiver (as seen in West Jordan) to allow real-time video monitoring without additional setup.
  • Microphone Audio Problems: During a previous meeting, microphones exhibited inconsistent levels and minor feedback. Staff adjusted internal mixer settings (Zoom volume, Xtron program volume) and later found that a PC volume slider had been changed, potentially causing the issue. After resetting sliders and restarting equipment, microphones sounded normal again.
  • Upcoming Planning Commission: At the end, one participant mentioned that no one had appeared for a planning commission meeting and that they would schedule a service call for the encoder.

Key Outcomes

  • HDMI cable reseated: Loose connection identified and fixed; encoder now provides stable video.
  • Service call needed: Since the encoder may still have underlying issues, a technician visit will be arranged.
  • Microphone levels normalized: No further action required after adjustments; audio now appears consistent.
  • No formal decisions: This was a troubleshooting work session; no votes or official actions were taken.
