Can we stand for the pledge, please? Good evening, everyone, and welcome to the Tuesday, September 2nd regular council meeting. It's 5 30. We'll get underway here. First, we have our invocation tonight, which will be given by Carl Heinberg. Carl, are you here? Didn't even look. We are grateful, Father, for the privilege of training ourselves for service. Give us open minds, a clear understanding, a steady purpose to make the most of our talents and lead us into the fields of work where we can best serve thee. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Beth. Now move on to roll call of members. Ashley, would you be so kind? Councilmember Lumen. Here. Councilmember Brands. Here. Councilmember Wood. Yeah. Councilmember Leighton. Present. Councilmember Whitesell. Present. Marking Councilmember Patzick is absent. And Mayor Bridger. Here. Thank you, Ashley. And now move on to consideration of the agenda. Could I get approval for the agenda? So moved. Second. I have a motion and a second any discussion on the agenda. Hearing none, all those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Opposed. That passes. I now move on to community updates. My first community update today is the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Proclamation. And it's given to us by the Cates family, Cashley Cashley and Chance. Welcome. Yep. Thank you for doing this. Yes. So the proclamation for the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, whereas Jason's Friends Foundation is currently supporting over 175 Wyoming families who have had the misfortune of having a child diagnosed with cancer, brain and spinal cord tumors, and will continue to help these families until their child reaches 21 years of age. And whereas Jason's Friends Foundation has enrolled 19 new families so far in 2025 alone, compared to a total of 21 in 2024 and 21 total in 2023. And this sharp increase is a sobering reminder of the ongoing need in Wyoming. Jason's Friends Foundation has expend expended over $8,650,000 directly to Wyoming families of children with cancer, brain or spinal cord tumors since its inception in 1996, preventing financial instability and relieving much of the family's financial burden. Over 70 Wyoming children have lost their battle with cancer, brain or spinal cord tumors, and in the last 29 years.
