- Employee and Leader Recognitions: The board recognized Bobby Washington (Mental Health Tech) as Employee of the Month for February 2026 for his dedication to patients and team. Robin Tregg was honored as Leader of the Quarter (Q4 2025) for her leadership of the Destrehan Adult Clinic, which has achieved high patient volumes and top net promoter scores. Annika Edwards, Nurse Practitioner, was named Provider of the Quarter (Q4 2025) but was unable to attend as she was seeing patients.
- New EMS Director Introduction: Carl Flores was introduced as the new Director of EMS, joining on April 6, 2026. He previously served as Chief of EMS for the City of New Orleans and led UMC’s burn outreach. He outlined plans to improve EMS culture, explore revenue opportunities, advance the whole blood program, and enhance documentation. He emphasized patient service and bringing innovation to St. Charles Parish.
- Quality and Patient Experience Update: The hospital has gone 441 days without a reportable quality event. Patient experience scores met or exceeded goals in four of six categories, with the emergency department and outpatient areas achieving top-decile performance. Clinic quality metrics on the Luling and Destrehan sides were at or near goals, with a year-to-date smoking quit rate as the only area below target.
- Provider Recruitment and Growth: Dr. West reported a 16% increase in unique patients served (over 20,000) year-over-year, primarily from St. Charles Parish zip codes. New providers include a rheumatologist (Dr. Natalie Atala starting in July), an optometrist (Dr. Cassidy Band), a hospitalist starting in August, and an endocrinologist under discussion. OB/GYN coverage expanded to five days per week at both the Luling and Destrehan clinics. Two new orthopedic advanced practitioners were signed. Adjustments to gastroenterology scheduling will increase colonoscopy access.
- Financial Report – March 2026: March saw record highs: 310 surgical cases (8% above budget), over 10,000 therapy procedures (22% above budget), and record volumes in imaging and lab. Total operating revenue exceeded budget by 5.3%. Net income for March was $230,000.
- Hope Closet Initiative: Nurses Erica and Emily Check Schneider launched a “Hope Closet” to provide personal hygiene and household items to patients in need, inspired by an incident where a patient lacked home care supplies. The hospital is seeking donors for this program.
- Community Partnerships and Programs: A partnership with Dow will host three digital health outreach events in Kilona, Hanville, and a third location to help residents enroll in telehealth programs. The STEM Pathfinders program for rising sophomores and juniors will be held July 6–10, 2026, and is being expanded to accept more students.
- Hospital Millage Vote: The hospital’s main millage continuation at a reduced rate will be on the ballot May 16, 2026. The millage supports hospital facilities and EMS services. The board encouraged community members to vote and noted that absentee voting options are available.

Um first I would like to call up uh Mr. Washington. Uh come up to the podium, please, and come up. So Bobby Washington is one of our mental health techs on up on our behavioral health unit, and uh really happy to say that he was selected for our employee of the month for February of 2026. Um Mr. Washington works uh mostly night shifts uh on a behavioral health unit, and we had the opportunity to do a little rounding with the Easter Bunny uh right before Easter. And uh I think we surprised Mr. Washington with the Easter Bunny, but um it was a more of a surprise for him to say congratulations for being selected as employee of the month. Um he does so many things uh for the team up there, uh true team player, but uh multiple stories that were submitted on his behalf about um how he's willing to go above and beyond for his patients um as well as a team members. So congratulations, Bobby, and thank you. Thank you. So we got a little gift. Yeah, for you want to put okay. I can get my phone cooperate. Here we go. All right. Okay, thank you for the opportunity to speak. Uh first of all, in any type of setting, I would like to give thanks to God first. Uh, but I would like to also thank the board for going over and beyond of the recognition that was given to me by auction of St. Charles to Jared and also to Chonda. Uh one thing I can say that I will continue to put my best foot forward, and not only that, but to treat every not just the patients, but also my co-workers with dignity and respect. Only thing left to say is thank you, thank you, and thank you. Thank you. Yes, exactly. We do. I can definitely say we do not give it to you. Thank you. Um second, I'd like to invite up uh Miss Robin Tregg. Uh if she would come up, please. Robin was selected as our leader of the quarter for Q4 2020 25. Um, we're a quarter behind, but um Robin um has been an integral part in a lot of our things with our rehab services. Um she runs our Desterhand Adult Clinic, and that clinic has grown and grown and grown and grown. Um at the same time, they've hit uh numbers of new patients that are coming in. They've also had their net promoter scores be some of the highest that we have throughout all of re-app services within auctioner.
