Uh many of you are probably familiar with the proverb that says a society grows great when old men plant trees under whose shade they will never sit. I think that is very appropriate as a group of commissioners as citizens of a city. I think it's important that we have a perspective looking forward. It's not about us, it's about what comes behind us. And sometimes those things might be painful for us in the time, but we have to think outside of ourselves and think about what's coming down the line, whether it be zoning, building plans, uh how we treat our neighbors, etc. I think it's just very important that we keep that in mind, and it's not just about our own personal opinions, but what would serve the greatest good as a community will serve the people that come here after we're gone.
