Good evening, everyone.

Welcome to the May twenty-third, two thousand and twenty-three development review commission hearing.

The purpose of the development review commission has been created to hold public meetings and hearings to provide analysis and recommendations to the city council regarding general land use policies and applications where the commission has recommendatory uh power and to render final decisions on specified applications where the commission has final decision making power, including but not limited to all aspects of a proposed and future development.

The development review commission recognizes that the creation of a desirable environment throughout the city for residents, businesses, and industry is a prime requisite for the interdependence of land values, aesthetics, and good site planning by promoting harmonious, safe, attractive, and compatible development that is therefore considered to be in the best interests of public health, safety, and the general welfare.

Any person aggrieved by a final decision of the development review commission may file an appeal to the city council within fourteen calendar days after the development review commission has rendered its decision.

Also with us is alternate commissioner Rihanna Corbett and Vice Chair to my right, Andrew Johnson.

Uh it is our intention to deal with all four published items on tonight's agenda as a part of our consent agenda.

And what that means is we will deal with them all in one singular vote with the intention to vote in the affirmative, meaning we're going to pass them as proposed with no changes.

Um and staff, we don't have any okay, no white cards.

Uh so we're going to deal with all of those as part of our consent agenda.

We have no meeting minutes uh to review, so I will entertain a motion uh for a consent agenda, Mr.

I would make a motion uh for approval of the consent agenda.

Do we have a second uh it's been moved by Commissioner Cassano, segmented by Commissioner Spears?

Saw many of you there on Friday at the beautiful new addition to our city, the Omni Hotel.

I can give you the uh proposed agenda for the June 13th.

Wonderful TRC meeting.

We have uh proposed on the agenda six um project cases.

We've got a request for use permit to allow attendance parking or for zoning and development plan review for two multifamily buildings with consisting of eight units for Bonnie Lane Apartments at 1116 South Bonnie Lane.

Request for use permit to allow um internet car sales at for Tempe Motor Company at 9229 South Hardy Drive.

Got a request for use permit to allow um five foot six inch decorative screen wall in the front yard setback for the Gilmore residents at 326 East Broadmoor Drive.

Then for um zoning cases, we've got a planned area development overlay and development plan review for a new 29-story mixed use development for 211 East 7th Street, located at 211 East 7th Street.

Then we have a request for our plenary development overlay and development plan review for a new 27-story mixed use development 281 units for Sky Tempe located at 780 South Myrtle Avenue.

That's the uh northwest corner of University in Myrtle.

Um the applicant is Snell and Wilmer.

And then we've got a general plan density map amendment and um zoning map amendment from CSS to MU4 and a PAD and development plan review for a new seven-story mixed use development known as the Marshal at Tempe.

Uh 1057 East Apache Boulevard.

The Marshal, you say the Marshal, yes.

Okay.

Uh one question.

We talked about the special uh date that we set uh for June 27th.

That's a hearing that'll be in uh at the history museum, I believe.

Uh on Southern.

Is that agenda limited to just discussion or presentation of the uh 2050 plan or could there be other cases on that?

Yeah, we're limiting just to discussion only.

We possibly might have some meeting minutes to take action on, but um just house cleaning.

And we will take public commentary.

We will not discuss the case nor take any action.

It's just a first hearing.

We'd like your public input or commentary.

Yeah.

Uh opportunity to respond to the comments or questions, but ultimately yeah, it'll be um public input session.

Allow the the um staff to present the formal public hearing of the draft plan.

So we will take comments and questions, so I imagine we'll also we'll have a turn.
