- For vehicular traffic, two corridor alternatives were studied: a three-lane cross-section (with center turn lane) and a roundabout corridor. The roundabout corridor was selected because it reduces right-of-way impacts, improves traffic flow, and enhances safety. Roundabouts are proposed at SW McDonald at 103rd Ave, 98th Ave (Omara), 97th Ave, and 93rd Ave. The intersection at 100th Ave will have a concrete median to restrict left turns (drivers will use nearby roundabouts to U-turn). All roundabouts are single-lane, designed for 25 mph speeds, and accommodate fire trucks and school buses.
- Community engagement included 45 individual property owner meetings (ongoing) and a project story map online. Feedback noted concerns about speeding, left-turn challenges, and crossing difficulties at 100th.
