- Senior AMI Technician Classification: A senior level of the AMI technician classification was created, requiring three years of city service and meeting standard metrics. This is also not a new FTE. Approved.
- Water Technician Senior Classification: A senior water technician classification was created to allow meter readers a path to customer-interaction roles. Not a new FTE. Approved.
- Committee Reassignments: Mr. Tiner presented a draft of committee reassignments. After discussion about alternates and membership (including adding Mr. Eatman as an alternate in multiple committees), the committee revised the slate. Mr. Holmes read the final assignments: Projects (Chair Eatman, Vice Chair Lanier, Member Henry, Alternate Busby); Admin (Chair Fail, Vice Chair Eatman, Member Tyner, Alternate Howard); Properties (Chair Henry, Vice Chair Howard, Member Eatman, Alternate Tyner); Finance, Public Safety, and Community Development as written; Litigation/Insurance (Chair Tyner, Vice Chair Busby, Member Fail, Alternate Lanier). The motion to adopt the revised assignments passed by voice vote.

On this today. We have a I hope you've had an opportunity to look at the minutes to have a motion. I make a motion. I'll second it. All in favor? Aye. All right. That passes. Ms. Standridge, Miss Franks, whoever's going to present. Ms. Standridge is the star of the day. I'm so sorry you guys have to hear my voice again. So at the admin committee last um, the last time that we met, we did a presentation regarding the process that we will be doing to approve any of the consumable hemp product sales and anyone coming forward requesting that licensure. A couple of things I want to make sure that we are all aware on. Number one, that we are not licensing these businesses. The licensing of these businesses comes from the ABC board at the state. All the city of Tuscaloosa can do is vote to either send them a letter of approval or deny them a letter of approval. Now you can kind of say that this like de facto does give approval for them issuing the license, but the city is not the one actually issuing that license. But however, we will not be doing the compliance work. Um we won't be doing any of the any of the checks on whether or not they are operating appropriately. All of that licensure work comes from the ABC board. And this does not make marijuana legal. Gosh, no. And if it and I would like to say that if that ever comes on the table, the CFO should not be the one presenting on that is on that issue. We'll let the public safety directly. Okay, any questions for Ms. Standridge or the motion? I don't have a question. I'm gonna make a motion. I am for it, but again, I thought that so I talked to the mayor. Um I would like to see some barwell rails and some standards from the city side ordinance-wise on you know where these are located to make sure they don't again. I think there's some places they they just admit, but uh uh I do I am in favor of it, but I am gonna make the motion. And I agree with everything you said, and I'll second all right. Uh, we have a motion to second. All in favor, all right. It passes. Um Miss Michael or Miss Herbert. Are y'all a tandem or how were we staying here? All right, we're talking about an AMI technician job classification here. All right, so this first one is creating the AMI um technician job classification. As you know, we were in the process of converting our meter system to AMI, and so this is creating a position to um actually do the work and and work on those the AMI components that are related to the meter reading. Uh how far along are we on that converter? So we are I haven't looked at the numbers this week. 65 pushing 70 percent, somewhere running there. We should be finished by hopefully by the end of the calendar year, but we're gonna say first quarter of next year. Are we transferring people more or less into or are training them for new jobs? Is that what we're doing? Or yes, these won't be uh new FTEs. So yes, it'll be yes, they'll they'll when you see these three jobs as we talk about them.
