Uh, we re recommend rejecting these bids, and we're gonna be uh repackaging that project um and adding budget to it next year, basically.

But it had to deal with uh one of the HVAC systems having a different refrigerant.

Um we didn't know that going into the into the project when it was estimated.

Um, but uh that became a much more expensive project just because of one of the the units having a different refrigerant.

Um so uh the this project came in uh as a bid for an alternate and a base bid.

Uh we recommend moving forward with both the base and the alternate um in a total of sixty-four thousand six hundred dollars.

Uh, this is to review an act on an easement between the Wisconsin Electric Power Company uh and the city of Waukeshaw uh for property at 600 Century Drive.

Um this is to install above ground and underground electric facilities to supply power to the MVB storage building that was built back there.

So that was built last year.

We need a supply power to it, and uh the We Energy's needs an easement over the property to run the wires.

Uh this is to authorize uh the department to submit for a Wisconsin DNR municipal flood control grant uh for design and construction of flood mitigation infrastructure in the deer path subdivision.

Um as you know, uh the last the storms over last August.

Uh we had extensive flooding at the intersection or down at the low point on Hunter Road, and then on again on Frost Foxcroft Lane.

Uh there was structure damage down there.

Um we have been seeking out um alternative funding sources.

Um this is is an opportunity uh that we'd like to apply for, but to do that we need a resolution support from uh the board and the council uh to submit that to DNR.

Um if this would be if we would be granted this uh competitive grant, uh we could receive up to six hundred thousand dollars.

Um it's a 50-50 match, but uh up to six hundred thousand dollars is the the max.

Um the grant uh the way I'm reading it, uh it's up to six hundred thousand dollars, and the city would be responsible for half of whatever the work does get done.

This is to review and possibly act on a two-party state municipal agreement.

Uh, this is between the city of Waukeshaw and the Wisconsin DOT.

Um, we applied for a highway safety improvement program grant.

Uh this was for work and improvements to be done at the Sunset Drive and Guthrie uh drive intersection there, uh where there's those the fatality in the recent past, and we have installed some temporary um improvements there, but we did apply for a a safety grant here at that intersection.

Um, and we were awarded that project.

Um so uh the state will pay 90 percent of uh said grant or said project um up to their portion would be 303,295 dollars um and uh for a total project of 338,994 dollars.

So uh we applied for a grant um and uh to move forward with that project.

We would need to move this agreement forward.

Uh the project wouldn't be occurring until um 2031 construction.

Um so it's years out yet, but uh design was starting 2029.

What we did there, Alderman Payne, he'll remember is we first had the temporary signs out extra stop signs out there with bases or yeah weighted down.

Um and then the city garage pulled uh um some overhead signs from the from our stock.

Yeah, and uh this is to do more permanent installation as well as other other improvements to make additional safety improvements.

I I was one street off when I was thinking of back towards the gas station.

So those are official notices that are going out on for bids opening on March 6th.

Um then the only other note that I'll mention is uh you'll probably maybe have seen that uh we are out this week picking up leaves uh as much as we can with the crew out there.

Uh they're making progress, it's slow, but they're making progress.

And um trying to be as careful as possible.

But you know the ground is extremely soft right now, uh, with frost coming out of it, and then the rain and everything else.

So there's been damage here and there, but uh they're trying to be as careful.

And it's gotta be harder because they're spread out everywhere.
