Uh, this is review and possibly act on contract change order number one with always contractors for the frame park formal gardens pathway irrigation and drainage system improvements project.

Um pass it over to Brandon to give you a high level overview of that.

And believe uh Melissa from ParkRec Forestry is also available if there's any questions.

So uh thank you, Alex.

So there were some additional work items that were completed by the contractor, which is always as part of the uh formal gardens improvement projects.

I'll just kind of high level hit a couple of the items uh through here and kind of the little bit of background on on the additional costs.

So first couple of items were related to the electrical work that was done by internal city staff, PRF staff, and some additional work that the contractor had to complete uh to repair pathway grading and edging uh during that electrical work in preparation for the uh flexi pave material that uh was placed on the pathways.

Uh so that is item number one.

Uh the second item, unfortunately, there were few damaged locations to the newly installed irrigation system uh during the electrical work that needed to be repaired by the irrigation contractor as part of the contract work, and they did have to come back and and make those repairs, which did lead to additional costs by our contractor.

Outside of that, we did have minor additional sidewalk uh work related to the project.

A little bit more sidewalk was replaced as part of the project work while we were out there marking removals and just you know shaping everything.

It it made the most sense while the contractor was there to grab a few extra squares of sidewalk, especially one that we found.

Um the unfortunately, some existing electrical conduit in that location was poured like right into the sidewalk slab.

So when they went to remove it, uh it ended up damaged some of that electrical, and they they needed to repair more sidewalk because of that after that fix was was made by internal city crews.

There was also additional three-quarter inch clear open graded stone, which is the base material for the flexi pave that was installed that overran the quantity per plan, but we did want to make sure that we had enough base material underneath the flexi pave and the paver border and make sure that that was a solid foundation uh for years to come.

So that quantity did overrun a little bit.

So total amount of this change order is 17,977 and 52 cents.

And uh we'll definitely answer any questions you have.

So I had an opportunity to talk to to Melissa and to Alex and Brandon about this.

I guess the the crux of this for me is that we've been we've been and when I say we, I say the city, but we've been talking about knocking out the electrical work at the frame guard at the formal gardens for a long time.

And my sense is with this project we're really close.

And the last piece of the project is to I guess either install and or upsize the power source for that.

Is that correct, Melissa?

Okay.

And in talking to Melissa, that seems like there is enough money left in this particular project to get that work done this year, and then we can be completely done with electricity at the formal gardens.

So those of for those of you, all of you watching at home, this will give you additional outlets to plug in speakers and boom box, boom boxes.

Boy, I am a boomer.

Um speakers, microphone, things like that for different events that you're having at the at the formal gardens, which is something that the city's been working on.

So and I guess I got some background from staff.

I'm good with the change order, and that's why I made the motion.

Um, so you've seen these before, it's very similar to previous ones.

Um there's any questions, uh Brandon or I'll try to answer.

Otherwise, developers here as well.

Uh there's any additional questions.

I'm excited to get this project uh moving along for sure.

So is this is this Alex is this B and C or is C something different?

B B is the developer's agreement, C is a stormwater management practice.

Greedy Park irrigation installation, the rebid of that, Green Terrace, Playground Resilient Surface Project, the Luke Avenue Born Place, Walton Avenue Street Improvement Project, Rubendrive Pump Station Replacement Project, and the Walkshire Public Library Revolving Door Project.

So we are moving forward.

More bids.

Alex, I just had two questions.

So rem I think I remember the whole greedy park thing.

I but I'm just curious why it why was the Greenway Terrace Playground rebid?

Came in at extremely high well over my budget.

Oh, that's right.

The 3D Park, we did not receive a bid, and then the other one, the Greenway Terrace came in very high.

Did we did we change the specs on Greenway Terrace to see if we get a different level of bid?

Imagining the well, not reimagining the project, but we're looking at how we're bidding it out and to try to get a better price.

And we're gonna reach out to more contractors and things like that.
