Waukesha City Council Meeting - July 21, 2026

Discussion Items

• Acceptance of Donation from GD Process Design, LLC: Assistant Chief Tim Fleming of the Fire Department presented the donation of a clean, non-hazardous tank from GD Process Design for use as a training prop. The tank will be delivered to the training center on Century Drive at zero cost to the city. The council unanimously approved acceptance (14-0).
• Ordinance & License Committee Report: Ald. Wuteska presented the third reading of a proposed amendment to Municipal Code 9.115 to allow temporary extensions of licensed premises onto Municipal Lot 13. The amendment, originally referred by Ald. Evert, would mirror existing allowances for the Clock Tower lot, enabling Maddie’s to host events. The council approved the amendment (14-0).
• Human Resources Committee Report: Ald. Chrisien (substituting for Ald. Anderson) presented revisions to City HR Policy E2 Motor Vehicle Use (formerly Vehicle Collision Control and Accident Reporting). The revisions clarified that only authorized city employees and approved volunteers with completed background checks, motor vehicle record reviews, and training may operate city-owned vehicles. • Board of Public Works Report: Alex Damien presented three bids:
  • Luke Avenue, Born Place, and Walton Avenue Utility and Street Improvements: Low base bid from Musson Bros., Inc. in the amount of $1,418,655.50 was awarded (14-0).
  • Greenway Terrace Playground Resilient Surface - Rebid: Low base bid from Bluemel's Maintenance Service, Inc. in the amount of $112,800 was awarded (14-0).
  • Grede Park Irrigation Installation - Rebid: Only bid received from All-Ways Contractors, Inc. was over budget; the Board of Public Works had recommended approval contingent on additional funding from the Waukesha Community Foundation, but after further discussion, the council moved to reject the bid and revisit the project's scope and timing. The motion to reject carried (13-1), with Ald. Van Trieste voting nay.
