During discussion, Rodriguez acknowledged a 2024 incident involving a fake ID and an underage drinking/absolute sobriety violation. Manion said he could not support the application because of the recency of the violations and their direct connection to bartending responsibilities.

The committee chair made both motions after noting the offenses on file and the time that had passed since them.

He said the DORA would not be activated, samples would be consumed inside participating shops, tickets sell out every year, about 45 tickets remained as of the meeting, and event proceeds support downtown promotions. He stated the event had never had any troubles.
