The Wilmington City Council met in regular session on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 6:38 PM. President Trippy Congo presided. Resolution Honoring Corporal Matthew Tyler Snook

The meeting will please come to order. Good evening, everyone. Today is Thursday, January the eighth, twenty twenty-six. I am Trippy Congo, President of Wilmington City Council. And along with all my colleagues, we just want to thank everyone who has joined us in Council Chambers and those of you who are with us virtually. We are going to begin with our opening prayer. Heavenly Father, we have assembled to handle affairs for our city of our city. As we do so, we ask for your guidance and understanding. Amen. This is a public note for public comment. There is a Google form sign-up link in the chat. Public comment will take place at the non-legislative business. The following legislation is being held this evening from Councilmember Darby, a resolution urging the Wilmington neighborhood uh land bank to pause the transfer of the Gibraltar state and engage in a transparent, equitable, and expert guided redevelopment process.
