For the last several years, Neighborhood Health has been a sponsor of the Pride Festival, and this year we're being joined in sponsorship by the Washington State Health Benefit Exchange.

Health disparities among the LGBTQ individuals are significant, reflecting broad social inequalities.

LGBTQ people often face barriers to health care access, including discrimination, lack of culturally competent services, and insurance gaps.

Um, my name is Heath Lamb, and I'm here to express my profound disappointment regarding your decision not to approve the proclamation recognizing June as Pride Month.

As an active engaged voting citizen dedicated to fostering a more inclusive Yakima, I'm deeply saddened by this decision.

It suggests a lack of commitment to representing all the citizens of Yakima, regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity.

I don't have time to give you a history lesson, but according to the Kinsey report, the best study we have on human sexuality, approximately 10% of the population identifies as homosexual.

The report also indicates that uh nearly 46% of males' subjects have uh reacted sexually to persons of both sexes in the course of their adult life, and that 37% have had at least one homosexual experience.

These statistics underscore the substantial presence and impact of the LGBT community, even if they are not vocal about their sexual orientation and gender identity.
