Right, next up on the agenda, we have one item today.

It's item 4A for a one legal briefing from the municipality of Anchorage Department of Law.

Um, before we make a motion, I'd like to apologize to the Department of Law for um my inability to get a quorum.

The last time we attempted to have this meeting, and I'm super grateful to everybody who's able to be here in person today and on the phone, so that we can conduct this briefing.

I would like to ask for a motion to um actually before a motion.

I'd like to ask the municipal attorney to lay the foundation um for why we are being asked to enter an executive session.

Uh the reason for meeting today in executive session is to allow the assembly to receive a legal briefing from the municipal attorney's office on various pending legal matters.

An executive session is appropriate under AMC 2.30.036A1 and 5, because it will involve discussion of information on specific legal matters, including pending litigation, as well as subjects which by law, municipal code or municipal charter or ordinance are required to be confidential, including the provision of legal advice subject to protection by the attorney client privilege.

Note for the record that Mr.

President has joined us.

So now that we've had that description, uh, do members feel like they have enough information to convene into an executive session.

This is a standard and regular legal briefing.

I'll move to enter executive session.

Seeing hearing no objection, we will now convene into an executive session, which means um anybody who's not part of the briefing will be asked to leave the room and actually exit all the way down to the main uh lobby.

So I think there's only one person, and then we'll close the door.

But we also need to make sure the second door is closed.
