Auburn Endurance Capital Committee Special Meeting - May 26, 2021

Discussion Items

• 2025-2026 Event Schedule – Shannon reported that the December 7 Festival of Lights is progressing well. The December 17 meeting will be replaced by the ECC Holiday Dinner at 6 PM at El Agave (same location as last year). The Christmas Day Inflatable Costume Walk was introduced as an informal gathering, meeting at 3 PM at the Livingston Building parking lot. Cynci suggested adding the January 1, 2025 Resolution Run with a booth presence (coordinator: Joyce Miller). Larry and Lori offered booth support. The Formidable Trail Races are scheduled for February 15, 2025 (4 events in one day) and the Canyons Races from April 23–25, 2025.
• Water Bottle Filling Station (WBFS) – The plan to install the WBFS near the restrooms at the Auburn Art Park was reinstated after the Lukens Fountain location was deemed unsuitable (poor visibility and installation issues). Cynci presented a graphic showing only acceptable locations: outside wall of restrooms or possibly on the Visitors Center wall facing the park. Cynci will report to Mengil at Public Works with two quotes for bi-level wall-mounted WBFS models for his approval.
• Swag Update – Committee to order more stickers and consider indoor window decals. Also consider ordering “Supporter of the Endurance Capital” stickers with logo for local businesses. Shannon will order an “Ann Trason Tension Banner” to pair with the existing Gordy banner for booth displays.
• Cycling Report (Bob) – Reported growing safety issues with three levels of e-bikes; citations are being issued.
• Water Sports – No representative found yet.
• Trail Projects (Lori) – Trails were closed for the winter.
• Website (Darci, Cynci) – The opening video is now a link on the front page to YouTube. The video is glitchy and needs captions and music, though the website loads faster and smoother. Darci will work on improvements. Committee members were asked to review recent website changes and check links, reporting suggestions to Cynci and Darci.
• Instagram, Monthly AECW Friends Email (Erika) – Not discussed in detail.
