Auburn Endurance Capital of the World Committee Meeting - May 26, 2021

Discussion Items

• Treasurer's Report: Larry presented the budget with a balance of $1,680.51, showing no changes since the prior report. The report was unanimously accepted.
• ECC Reappointments: Larry Grilli, Shannon Weil, and Cynci Calvin were reappointed to two-year terms (2026–2027) unanimously.
• $300 Request for Food: A $300 request for food for the Olmstead Tile Celebration was unanimously approved. Shannon Weil will coordinate with Auburn Bodega.
• 2026 Events Review: The committee did not attend the Formidable races due to weather and volunteer absence. Upcoming events include Canyons Expo (April 24–25) and Western States Finish Line Expo (June 27–28).
• Swag Update: Cynci presented two window decal options; the committee preferred the simpler "Welcome!" version with the logo. It was decided to give decals away to promote visibility rather than use as a fundraiser.
• Water Station: Installation is anticipated in early spring.
• Cycling Report: Bob reported that Sierra Foothills Cycling Club is participating in Placer County's South Placer Connectivity discussion. Concerns were raised about pedestrian and cyclist safety at the new Highway 49/Lincoln Way roundabout.
• Water Sports: No representative has been found yet.
• Tevis & Trail Updates: Lori reported 10 riders and horses participating in the Tevis Cup; the Education Ride will be held June 13, and a burro race on June 6.
• Roundtable Discussion: Larry suggested dividing event presence among members. The committee decided to keep Erika despite her resignation offer and to advertise the unfilled 10th member position. Discussion on brick pillar renovation was continued.
