This workshop covered a wide range of topics, including a team-building icebreaker, formation of a rules committee, strategic planning, budget overview, ADA improvements to council chambers, the Build-Up Aurora capital plan, an update on the Navigation Campus, and a proposal to implement transportation impact fees on non-residential development. The meeting included extensive discussion and direction from council members.
Good morning everyone. We will call the workshop for Saturday, February 7th to order. And we are going to start out with a team building icebreaker activity with Jesse Byrne. Let's go with your role just in the middle of the code. Oh, right. Yes. Roll call, Katie. Thank you. Councilmember Andrew. Councilmember Morgan. Mayor Calvin Camus. Present. Councilmember Garner. Here. Council Member Hancock. Here. Alan Catherine. Here. And here. Here. Alan Wild. Here. Alright. Thank you, Katie. So yes, now we'll introduce Jesse to do a short icebreaker activity. I'm actually gonna stand over here so that I don't have my back towards Councilmember Bergen and Councilmember Lawson. Good morning, everyone. Glad you could be here. Um again, my name is Jesse Byrne. I'm the division manager for community engagement, and I'm here this morning to engage with all of you in an icebreaker. The icebreaker for today is about leadership, which is very fitting given who we have here in the room with us today. But before we get into the instructions on that icebreaker, I want to start off by asking all the council members who are here at the table and those joining us virtually. I want to ask you a leadership question. And any of you can respond with your thoughts to this question. And that question is leadership only for those who are in positions of leadership? Or can anyone be a leader, regardless of the position that they hold? What are some thoughts to that question? I think anybody can be a leader. It's all about attitude. I'm hearing anybody can be a leader. Did you say it's all about attitude? It's all about attitude, respect, and trust. I'm hearing anybody everybody should try to be in a leader. Any other thoughts? Everyone has good ideas. Everyone has good ideas. Some people should not be leaders. Some people should not be leaders. Show of hands, how many maybe of us have seen leaders that are not so great sometimes from time to time? It happens, right?
