The Bellevue Transportation Commission met on August 19, 2026, starting at approximately 10:15 AM and adjourning at 8:45 PM. The meeting included election of officers, public comments, staff reports, and two study sessions: one on the Eastgate and Factoria Neighborhood Area Plans and one on the 2026 Mobility Implementation Plan (MIP) update. Key discussions centered on speed limit changes, performance metrics for pedestrian and bicycle level of traffic stress, and volume-to-capacity (V/C) ratio targets for regional corridors and freeway access intersections. The commission directed staff to study potential changes to the speed limit factor and to analyze capacity improvements for regional arterials without lowering existing standards.
It shouldn't come through then. Yeah. And I think there is a switch. I think it's been delayed. I honestly don't know. Okay, audio's on. All right, so audio down. So I want to once more. Um we just did roll call. Commissioner Welcher, can you acknowledge that you are here, please? I do acknowledge I'm here. All right. Good. So we do have well, here we are. I got a thumbs up from Kevin. You got a hand raised or something? Okay. Okay, good. All right. Then let's start with the election of officers. Uh Kevin, could you please announce who you have nominated for chair? For the for the position of chair, so far I've received one nomination. Um the nomination is uh currently for Vice Chair McGill. Um we can accept any nominations from the floor. And if we see none, um Vice Chair McGill would become chair automatically without a vote. So are there any other nominations from the floor? And Commissioner Welcher, raise your hand if you do have any. Do you have a uh an unnomination to give us? I officially unnominate myself. Well, I I believe we can it's never happened before, but I I believe we can set a precedent with your unnomination. And then therefore under the current process, which we just went through, um Commissioner Williams would become our new vice chair for the next year. Thanks for s for volunteering, Commissioner Williams. We'll move in right on further. So um do I have a motion to approve the agenda? So it's and move uh and second. Anyone check? Yes, there's no objections we have the agenda. Uh let's move on to Ruby Communications. Uh Kevin is uh having you forwarded all the communications we've seen since May 14, right? Nothing else that we don't have, okay. Uh so we should have those and that's it. Right. There's no place for us. I was else for us to review. Okay. Uh let's go to oral communications. Um, so limited three minutes for personal. Uh staff, Kevin will keep signing and comments must relate to the city involved view, government business, and the roles and responsibility with transportation commission. So please call speakers in your sign in work. Okay.
