0:51

Um, you know, this week some of us were able to attend the uh opening of the uh new casino down in uh Queda.

1:00

And I just wanted to encourage our folks, our our chamber and our TED team.

1:06

Um it's a great opportunity to explore the uh land that we have on depth now highway 51 for development for those folks who are gonna be traveling that way.

1:15

We don't want to miss out on opportunities to be able to like a hotel or something or miss opportunities, yeah.

1:21

So we explore those opportunities as they present themselves since we're in beta.

1:26

Okay, okay, economic development.

1:29

Thank you for that.

1:31

Yes, Councillor Green.

1:33

City Manager.

1:34

Well, just I mean, that's a great segue for uh from Councillor Green, is that we have actually had a couple of discussions with James and Amber and our team about developing the vision for Highway 51.

1:47

Uh that is I I believe that the uh innovation or aero forge once the infrastructure is done, we're gonna start to see a lot of recruitment and business coming there, and you look at the next area, it has the potential growth for manufacturing industrial, which will automatically require retail commercial is that area, and so the preliminary discussions have have begun to try to actually make sure that we're planning for that.

2:10

And so at some point, I would think later this year we'd be coming to the authority with some just some general ideas about about what we're considering, but that that began last late last year, and we had a meeting about three weeks ago about it.

2:21

So we're continuing discussions and we have the support of several of the property owners that are interested in developing their property.

2:28

Good.

2:28

All right, great, nothing else, Mayor.

2:33

So move second.

2:50

Summary of Proceedings

Broken Arrow Economic Development Authority Meeting – March 3, 2026

The Broken Arrow Economic Development Authority (BAEDA) met on March 3, 2026, following the City Council meeting. The board unanimously approved the consent agenda and discussed development opportunities along Highway 51.

Consent Calendar

  • Approval of Minutes (February 17, 2026): Approved unanimously.
  • Conveyance of 10.00 acres to CSI Aerospace, Inc.: Ratified the execution and delivery of the General Warranty Deed for land in Arrow Forge (Section 33, Township 18 North, Range 14 East).
  • Claims List Check Register (February 23, 2026): Ratified.

Discussion Items

  • Trustee Justin Green remarked on attending the opening of a new casino in Queda and encouraged the chamber and economic development team to explore opportunities on BAEDA’s land along Highway 51, particularly for a hotel or similar development to capture travelers.
  • City Manager responded that preliminary discussions had already begun with staff and property owners to develop a vision for Highway 51. He noted that once infrastructure at Arrow Forge is complete, recruitment of manufacturing and industrial businesses is expected, which will drive demand for retail and commercial uses. He indicated that the authority would likely receive general proposals later in 2026.

Key Outcomes

  • Motion to approve the consent agenda was made, seconded, and carried unanimously (4–0, with Chairperson Debra Wimpee, Vice Chairman Johnnie Parks, Trustees Lisa Ford, Justin Green, and David Pickel all voting yes).
  • No other business was conducted; the meeting adjourned after remarks.
