On August 27, 2026, a Granicus trainer conducted a virtual training session for City of Brookings staff on Live Manager Web, the city's new live streaming and timestamping platform replacing Live Manager Classic. Staff confirmed they had already used the new system for the past couple of weeks since a new encoder was installed. The session focused on video operation and timestamping; staff declined an offer to learn real-time minute-taking, stating they did not want to make changes and hoped the new system would not be worse than the current process. The session was scheduled for a full hour and ended once staff questions were resolved.

The purpose of this training today is to kind of verse you on your new live live cast solution, or we call it live manager web. So you were using what we call live manager classic, which was our older um system. And now we've transferred you to a new system called Live Manager Web. So what we're going to be doing today is I'm going to be showing you kind of the ins and outs of your new live manager web solution. Because there is some differences between what you're using now currently and this new application. So I'll be going through kind of the little nuances of the application. And if you have any questions, feel free to just uh jump in and ask your questions. I do have actually a question though for your team before we get started. So I noticed that your team is using uh live manager to kind of like run the video right during the meeting and then timestamp. There's also an option in live manager to take minutes. So basically the the clerk's office or I mean even IT um can take minutes in real time, like as the meeting is happening. Is that something you're interested in learning about today? Or are you more just focused on like, hey, we just want to learn how to use the video and do the time stamping, basically just kind of mirroring our current process. Yeah, we don't we're not interested in making any changes. We just hope that it's not worse than what we currently have. Okay, okay. Awesome. Okay. Well, I can send you a video if you do ever become interested in saying, like, hey, you know, I want to start taking minutes during the meeting. I can send you a bit video tutorial on how to do that if you ever that ever comes up in the future. Um but yeah, we'll just kind of plan on on um going through kind of your your current process. So first things first. So what you'll want to do is in order to access your new live manager web solution, you're not gonna click on a shortcut on your desktop. So, you know, under normal circumstances, you'd have like a little shortcut that says like live manager, you'd click on that and that opens up the live manager application. Um the process is a little bit different, is that you will be going to access live manager web. You're gonna be going to your media manager site. And I'm gonna put this URL for you in the chat window. Um I'm sure you're probably familiar with it, but just so that we're all on the same page, I'll throw it for you in the chat window. It's just city of Brookings.granicas.com. Um, you're gonna go to that URL and you're gonna log in with your credentials. Um is there anyone on the phone that does not have access to media manager? No, we both have access to it. Okay, thanks. Thanks for confirming that. Okay. So you're gonna log into to media manager, okay, with your credentials. Okay. And then what you're gonna see is you're gonna notice there's an upcoming event section. So just like how you have currently, you've got upcoming events here. What you're gonna do next is you're gonna find the meeting. Okay. So if it's you know, a historic preservation meeting, if it's uh uh city council meeting, you're gonna find your meeting here under upcoming events. The clerk creates this event through Ledge Star. So you guys are using Legistar. They're gonna create that event in Legistar, same process. Okay, that process won't change.
