Broward County Planning Council Regular Meeting and Public Hearing - June 26, 2025

The Broward County Planning Council held its regular meeting and public hearing on June 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Room 422 of the Broward County Governmental Center.   • PH1 (Recertification PCR 25-7): Quasi-judicial hearing on recertification of the Town of Davie Future Land Use Element – Map Amendment. The town waived the quasi-judicial hearing; staff recommended approval. Motion passed unanimously.
  • PH2 (Recertification PCR 25-8): Public hearing on recertification of the City of Fort Lauderdale Future Land Use Element – Text Amendment. Staff recommended approval; passed with PH4 and PH5.
  • PH3 (Amendment PC 25-3): Small-scale amendment for the City of Plantation – rezoning approximately 24.2 acres (from Commerce to a dashed-line area including residential) on the north side of Peters Road. Councilmember Jessica Abramson recused herself due to employment with the applicant (Styles Corporation). Staff recommended approval subject to a voluntary commitment by the applicant to restrict at least 39 dwelling units as affordable housing at the “moderate-income” level or below for a minimum of 30 years. Motion passed unanimously with one abstention.
  • PH4 (Amendment PC 25-4): Similar small-scale amendment for the City of Plantation – approximately 22.5 acres on the south side of Peters Road. Staff recommended approval subject to a voluntary commitment to restrict at least 49 dwelling units as affordable housing at the “moderate-income” level or below for a minimum of 30 years. Passed unanimously with PH2 and PH5.
  • PH5 (Amendment to Administrative Rules Document: BrowardNext): Amendment to Article 5 updating the in-lieu payment option for amendments adding 100 or more residential units. Staff recommended approval. Passed unanimously.
