Broward Housing Council Regular Meeting – November 7, 2025
The Broward Housing Council (BHC) held a regular meeting on November 7, 2025, at 10:20 AM in Room 430 of the Broward County Government Center, Fort Lauderdale. The meeting initially lacked a quorum but later achieved one after the arrival of member Michele Collie. The meeting was brief, lasting approximately 30 minutes, and included approval of prior meeting minutes, reports from the Chair and Director, and a report from the BHC’s representative on the Continuum of Care Advisory Board.

Discussion Items
- Chair’s Report: Chair Christopher Krzemien thanked members for their participation in the successful fall housing workshop (Futureproofing Broward). He noted positive feedback from attendees and online viewers. Vice-Chair Beth Daly and member Teneshia Taylor were recognized for moderating panels.
- Director’s Report: Darby Delsalle announced that the workshop’s live stream recording and keynote speaker Walter Duke’s slides are posted on the BHC website. A photo gallery is being developed. He also reported that the county is experiencing delays in the HOMES funding action plan due to the federal government shutdown, and municipalities have been notified.
- Continuum of Care Advisory Board Report: Member Teneshia Taylor reported on her recent activities, including attendance at three committee meetings with approximately 40–50 participants. She attended a shared housing forum (a pilot) held at the African American Research Library, which she described as a valuable model for collaboration. She volunteered for the focus group updating the “Away Home Plan” (strategic plan). Taylor also noted a landlord appreciation breakfast scheduled for November 17, 2025, which is sold out with 200 attendees.

Being that we do not have a quorum for this meeting, we will get through some general business, but we'll not have the ability to vote. So I am going to skip over items two and three, which are the approval of the minutes from August and October's meetings. As far as the chair's report is concerned, very short and sweet for today, but I just want to thank everyone for their participation in the fall housing workshop and for your participation as far as uh Miss Beth Daly and Tanisha Taylor for moderating the panels that we had. Uh from people that were in attendance and people that have watched uh online uh the streaming uh of that workshop. Uh it seems like all around that the uh the word got out and uh was very well uh received. Does anybody have anything uh that they would like to present as far as uh feedback that they maybe have heard or their experience with the workshop? Seeing none. Tanisha Tanisha, go ahead. I did on at the workshop get positive feedback. I also brought the note cards. Uh my note was mentioned that we would get we would follow up with some of the contacts, so I did bring those with me today as well. Fantastic. Okay. Uh I would say let's get those to Sue before we leave here today, so that way we can get uh those questions answered from anybody who did have questions that weren't answered from the stage on that day.
