Take your seat, please. All right, good morning, everybody. Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the Broward County Commission. Today is September 10, 2026. I'd like to ask everybody if you would please rise for a Pledge of Allegiance and please remain standing afterwards. And we're gonna have our new county attorney, Anika Ashton lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which stands one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice. Oh please remain standing. Uh ladies and gentlemen, it's customary that we observe a moment of of silence honorable of notable persons from our community. First gonna go around the dais to see if anybody wants to be recognized. Start with Commissioner Rogers. Good morning, everyone. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Today we honor Dawson Isaiah Lindell, affectionately known to so many of us as Uncle Dalton, was a pillar of dependability and warmth, touching Countess lives through his long over 30 years career with the transit department and his faithful service in the Sierra Calvary Baptist Church bus ministry. Dalton's adventurous spirit, kind heart, and willingness to serve others left an indelible mark on his neighbors, friends, and church family. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of community service and goodwill lives on for all of us. He's a driver, and I used him a lot, so I have to recognize him, Mr. Mayor. Then Reverend Dr. Nestor R. Hyatt. We extend our deepest condolences to the Hyatt family and the entire Gateway Church, Fort Lauderdale community. The passing of Reverend Dr. Hyatt is a profound loss. Over more than 50 years of ministry, our extraordinary pastoral heart, personality, generosity, and non-judgmental spirit made everyone feel truly valued and loved. From co-founding the church in nineteen seventy-three and gateway Christian Academy in nineteen ninety-three to carrying forward a beautiful shared vision after our husband. Your footprints are all over Broad County, my friend. You will be missed. Kenneth Dodger Simpson was a d devoted husband, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed by the community because he was a heart of certain years of Lauderdale Lakes. You can tell that's my home city. So just want to recognize you and your friends.
