Good evening. Today is Wednesday, November twentieth. Welcome to the Parks and Rec Commission meeting. Your interest in the commission is appreciated. If you wish to speak on an agenda item, you can do so during the open call to public. Uh comment on that, sir. This is just for items that are not on the agenda tonight. So you'll have a chance to talk about it. Yep. Thank you. Anyone else for open call to the public? Seeing no one will close it. Any presentations. I would love to. Um start with projects. Work is continuing at uh the optimum community center. Every building up there is going to have some sort of uh work done to it. Uh this will include new roofs, air conditioners, floors, paint. Um, many of these jobs have already been done on many of these buildings. We're also going to be getting a new stucco throughout all the buildings. And work on the new pickleball facility is going to be begin before the end of the year, and the gymnasium and multi-purpose room will be open in early twenty twenty-five. Upcoming events, we've got a quite a few things coming up in the parks that I'd like to let everybody know about. November twenty first at Rotary Park will be the Mojave High School Student Council Pickleball Tournament. November 25th will be a mixed doubles pickleball round robin. December 1st is the Insanity Girls Softball Tournament. December 6th through 8th is the UTV Off-Road event at Community Park. December 7th, the Adrian Empire will be back with their LARP event. December 7th and 8th, Toys for Tots Adult Softball Tournament will be at Rotary Park. And December 7th and 8th, a U Triple SA softball tournament for adults will be at Ken Fovark Park. Also on December 7th and 8th, we we have the AYSO Youth Soccer Area Tournament at Rotary Park. December 12th, the live nativity will be happening at Gary Keith Park, presented by Veterans United. December 14th and 15th will be the AFA Youth Girls Fast Pitch Tournament. And we have quite a number of programs coming up through the Recreation Division in the last few weeks of the year here. So November 22nd will be the Turkey Time Turkey Time Bash at the Rick Recreation Division office located at 2285 Train Road. This event's going to include crafts, games, and delicious treats. This is for kids ages 3 to 14 and starts at 11 a.m. This is a free event. This part of our fun believable Fridays ongoing program that we have run by our senior recreation supervisor Claire Adams. November 22nd at 6 p.m. at the recreation office will be our UNO showdown. This is a free UNO event and it's fun play for ages 14 and older. There will be trophies available for the winners. November 23rd from 9 a.m. to noon. At the Tri-State Shooting Park is the Golden Games Clay Trap Shooting Training. November 25th will be our Disney frozen sing-along version of a movie in the park. This will be at Ken Fovark Park. It's located at 2255 Train Road. We will have Anna and Elsa there to take pictures with everybody, and there will be an ornament making station, a frozen themed face painting, free popcorn, and our snack bar will be open with uh sale items for all. Events, the event starts at 5:30.
