The Bullhead City Parks and Recreation Commission held a regular meeting on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 5:30 PM in the City Council Chambers. The pool schedule was also reviewed.
- Commissioner Questions: Vice Chair asked about park closures during construction. Superintendent responded that the goal is to minimize closures and keep as much of the park open as safely possible, citing the skate park project as an example. Another commissioner asked whether volunteers must be Bullhead City residents; Superintendent clarified that volunteers from any location are welcome.
- Chairman’s Comments: The Chairperson welcomed new Commissioner Randy to the commission.
- Bylaws Review: The commission discussed and reviewed the Parks & Recreation Commission Bylaws. No revisions were recommended, and no action was taken.

All right, welcome to the parks and recreation commission meeting today, Wednesday, July 16th, 2025. Your interest in the business of the commission is appreciated. If you wish to speak on any agenda item, please uh come forward when the chairperson opens the floor to uh public input on that item. Uh we'll call this meeting to order. Roll call. All commission members are present except for commission member Straussny. We'll have the Pledge of Allegiance. All right. We have our open call to the public. We will allow excuse me, we'll now have an open call to public for citizens wishing to address commission on issues within the jurisdiction of the city. Uh your comments must be limited to three minutes or less unless you are speaking on behalf of a group of citizens present. And then the time is five minutes. At the conclusion of the open call to public, individual members of the commission may respond to criticism made by respond to criticism made by these who have addressed the commission, uh, may ask staff to review a matter or may ask that a matter be placed on future agenda items. Members are restricted by law to not discuss or take action on any matters uh not already on the agenda item. Good evening, everybody. My name is Harvey Pryor. Um here with from Bullhead RC, but I'm also here to say thank you very much for attending last Saturday and doing the fantastic ribbon cutting at the racetrack. That was very beautiful. It's to me, it's just a dream come true. Um for the rotary guys from Rotary Park Raceway, Anthony Del Vaccio and Dave Alton. Uh, wanted to let you know that uh Anthony on the 26th Saturday at 6 p.m. 7 p.m. I believe. Uh we will be doing another oval race out there. Five dollar entry fee. Got a few extra cards if anybody wants to run one. Um yeah, uh be great to see some of y'all come out and uh see us when they are really getting some action and some racing going on. It's gonna be a beautiful fall. I know that. There's a lot of great things that a lot of the racers and uh the crawlers and stuff were all planning some wonderful events in the fall. But I'm really wanted to mainly come here to say thank you. Thank you to Bullhead City. I know I've been a little stinker in the past, but thank you very much. And it is very, very appreciated. We do have a true unicorn in this city. And uh we just need to get everybody else in the country to come check it out because it's badass. So thank you very much.
